Did Bhishma do right? No he didn't.

It is pretty clear that Bhishma possessed a misguided sense of Dharma!
It is this blindness that makes him abduct the three princesses. It is this blindness that makes him a mute spectator to Draupadi's disrobing. It is this blindness that makes him tolerate every atrocity committed by the Kauravas. It is this blindness that makes him fight against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war. And in the end, it is the final consequence of this blindness that Krishna calls out in the Bhagavad Gita (11.34):

Dronanca Bhishmanca Jayadrathanca|
Karnam Tathaanyaanapi Yodhaveeraan||
Mayaa Hantaanstvam Jahi Maa Vyatishtitaa|
Yudhyasva Jetaaasi Saptanaan||

Slay Drona, Bhishma, Jayadratha, Karna, and other great warriors who are already killed by Me|
Do not be distressed, fight, and you will surely conquer your enemies in battle.

This verse simply means that Krishna"God himself"had recognized that this was to be Bhishma's ultimate for siding with Adharma (injustice, non-righteousness, etc) and that Arjuna's duty was to merely put an end to Bhishma's physical body.

(Thanks a lot for sharing this verse from Bhagavad Gita Srujadi🤗)

Abduct? I tot he won them😕 he was just following the orders of raj mata but draupadi's disrobing is very disturbing esp everyone (learned sages to wise men) keeping quiet. anyway I tot Bhishma was killed by Shikhandi (Amba's rebirth) or rather he willingly gave up his life since he had that boon.

Right and wrong could be subjective at times. Seeing things in hindsight it is easier to judge. If people could foresee the future as Krishna seems to be able to do (tri-kaal darshi) they would perhaps behave differently. 😊

Bhishma wasn't wrong in doing what his Raja Mata wanted him to. And Krishna did not kill Bhishma. It was Amba who took a rebirth as Shikandi due to some tapas she did after the rejection and vowed to kill him :)

to be short guys that is my personal view that beeshma thou was wrong his blind love towards his father had laid him to this regarding his death no one killed him he had eicha mrityu vardaan in short he promised his father that when he will see that hastinapur is in secure hands n will no not require his services he will die n when pandavas won completely in Mahabharata then he died on his shar shaiya which was due to amba AKA shikhandi n arjun . So in short no one killed Bheeshma guys plz look at the second episode you will recover every thing

Friends plz read the Verse posted in the main topic once again!It is from Bagavad Gita delivered by Shri Krishna himself!!!

Krishna regarded them as dead people coz they took the side of adharma.He asked Arjuna to just eliminate their physical bodies.Krishna killed them means they are going to meet their end soon!

Whoever severs Jayadratha's head from his body causing it to fall on the ground will instantly have their own head burst into pieces. Thus one who slays him is also in the mouth of death and that is why his name is specially mentioned as this was a boon given to him by his father. Karna has special power given to him by a weapon from Indra that will slay any one it strikes but only can be launched once, Bhishma has the boon that he will die only at the time he so desires and Drona cannot be defeated by any weapon receiving the boon of knowledge of every weapon and how to neutralise them from the avatar or incarnation Parasurama Himself.But by the will of the Supreme Lord Krishna they all will certainly have to perish on the battlefield!!

It can be taken in a broader way that whatever happens in the universe does so as per God's (Krishna's) will. Arjuna was just a tool to carry out what was already pre ordained. Lord Krishna showed his Virat roopa to Arjuna where the whole cosmos was contained within Him. God is beyond space-time.

since we're on the topic would like to add that Krishna's talisman in the end of the episode makes the show more meaningful.
i wish someone could compile it in thread
or the VM makers can wrap it in a VM too.
someone can also open a thread for detailed discussion on his teachings.

thanks.

But I wish SRJ should speak with more gravity in his voice as the sutradhar Krishna.
