Is a woman still just a commodity ?

In this terribly messy situation,I just have a question..does a woman have no rights in Islam...can she not absolve a marriage...it was just preposterous to watch two men deciding the fate of a woman. It seemed to me that she was been sold and bought...and she just has no say in it.
It was shameful to watch that a woman is forced into a relationship on one hand and on the other a woman tries to commit suicide because apparently she is unable to get married.

Why can't Zoya just say that the marriage is invalid and she is not a commodity ?

Why instead of waiting to be married Nikhat doesn't have any dreams or aspirations ...to work or get financially independent?

I was seriously appalled to see Asad contemplating practically 'loaning' Zoya to his little brother for a certain period of time, so Nikhat gets wed into that shithole.

She was clearly protesting in the precap and said 'woh ek nikah nahin tha', and yet Mr. Khan said that 'mohobbat par yakin' line then proceeded to drag her out against her will.

I don't necessarily think Nikhat is waiting to get married; she must be emotionally drained from the accepted-rejected cycle on repeat since episode one, and now cannot tolerate humiliation of her parents etc. I don't believe her goal in life is to get married. I wish she'd join a dance group or something, she doesn't need a man.

I saw the movie Nikaah with Salma Agha a long time ago ( I loved it) but what I want to know is what are the marriage laws in Islam, I only know that a man can dissolve the marriage by saying Talak three times, but there has to be more to it than that?

hi kulfi...Asad's behavior is appalling...just cannot believe the audacity these two men has...one loaning ...one borrowing. I believe if Nikhat had any intentions of standing up for herself ever...she would have declined any proposal of marriage...she should have assured her parents that she doesn't want to get married...wants a career in dance or anything else.

I've really been hoping to see that since forever 😆

I would be seriously pissed if Zoya decides to go back to Asad just like that, after being loaned for God-knows-how-long.

it's a great movie... it was very disturbing to watch that a man in a fit of anger has the right to absolve a nikaah whereas a woman has no rights.

I am seriously so done with this facade of nikaah's...how many times have they cancelled their nikaah? Honestly, I am absolutely outraged by the way a woman has been shown as a commodity.

Firstly, Islam gives both men and women the right to get a divorce. Secondly this isnt even a valid marriage, the way Islamic marriages are meant to be conducted, there is no way for someone to marry someone else by mistake. They didnt even say Qubool three times, they said "Haan" once. I dont think Zoya's name was even correct, there was no mahr decided. Etc...
so lets keep islam out of it.

besides that, i didn't like ayaan asking for zoya or asad deciding zoya has to go to SM. but at the end, the final decision will be Zoya's. I am think anyone is going to hold and gun to her head, or or lock her up in SM. If Zoya's conscious tells her this is wrong she can walk out at any given time. But i have a feeling she will also feel bad for Nikhaat and agree to this tomorrow, and if she doesn't then like I said, she can say NO and walk out at anytime. I don't think anyone is handcuffing her to SM.

And Nikhaat, well I have no words for her. Her parents seem to be more so desperate to get rid of her and her own self confidence has been shattered. Maybe they should send her to Bali for vacation or something.

yea thats what I thought that there is more than just saying yes like that to make a marriage valid! mazak bana ke rakh diya hai shaadi ko like so many other shows😕

there is a saying, that you should not get two sisters married in the same house; besides haseena is a 🤬, Nikhat nor Nazma should not be getting married in that house

I feel firstly we need to watch the episode tomorrow, how asad is convincing zoya to go to SM. As asad has already told her if she trust the love, and frankly they are at such a stage of their relationship, that he can ask her anything to do, and she can respond positively to his demand.
but in general it has to be Zoya's decision, as she is not a toy which a brother can give to younger one.
