What's the big deal?

I know Zoya turned out to be total Idiot and stupid. Ayaan is struck by bad fortune. But, so what? Couldn't they say talaak talaak, talaak and move on separately. Why make it such a big deal? Why should they be stuck with this unwanted marriage. There is the solution "Divorce" after all to handle such situations.
