It looks as if Supernatural will be seeing quite a few recurring characters during season 9, whether they are just mentioned in passing or are showing up on your screens.

The most interesting rumor to pop up on the Supernatural front this week involves the angel Ezekiel. Slated to first appear in the season premiere, "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here," the fallen angel will be played by Battlestar Galactica's Tahmoh Penikett. A new promo for the episode shows that Ezekiel may be involved in aiding Sam's (Jared Padalecki) miraculous recovery.

While the actor is only listed as appearing in the inaugural episode, recent rumors state that his name was mentioned during shooting for episode 6, "Dog Dean Afternoon." The source also said that Ezekiel was possessing Sam, allowing him to heal after having his throat slashed during the canine themed episode, according to Spoiler TV.

However, none of this has been confirmed as a fact.

In the meantime, fans can anticipate the arrival of a single mother named Nora in episode 7, "Heaven Can Wait," according to E!. While her first appearance opposite a supernatural problem named Ephraim, the site says that viewers can anticipate seeing her several more times during season 6.

Lastly, there is the issue of Cas (Misha Collins). Previous rumors regarding the Team Free Will member's absence from the premiere were put to rest earlier this week, but now TV Line is reporting that Castiel will be missing from episode 2, "Devil May Care."

'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Episode 6 Titled "Dog Dean Afternoon," Could be Jensen Ackles 'Dr. Dean-Little' Episode?

'Supernatural' executive producer Jim Michaels reveals the title of season 9's episode 6. (Photo : Twitter)

It appears the writers of Supernatural may have crafted a Dean-centric episode for the early half of season 9.

Set to begin filming next week, the Tim Andrew's ("Southern Comfort," "Of Grave Importance") directed episode is titled "Dog Dean Afternoon," according to a posted by executive producer Jim Michaels.

An Old Flame Reappears For Dean in Supernatural's "Bad Boys"

Slated to air as the sixth episode of season 9, the canine title appears to put the elder Winchester brother (Jensen Ackles) front and center.

Could this installment bring viewers the "Dr. Dean-little" that executive producer Jeremy Caver has promised? After episode 3, "I'm No Angel," the sci-fi drama is expected to go back to a case per week format and during comic-con Carver dropped hints regarding a storyline that involves Dean developing the ability to commune with animals.

"One of the highlights [is] Dean getting into a brawl with a pigeon," Carver said according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's a logical progression from fairies to pigeons."

Carver refers to the last time Dean was suddenly able to communicate with a being that no one else could - in this case it was fairies during season 6's "Clap Your Hands If You Believe." However, Ben Edlund, the mind behind the previous episode, has left Supernatural behind to follow its creator to Revolution.

An anonymous writer wrote this on SPN wiki website about the next season . 😭
How horrible

Yea, but Sam doesn't need to save Dean or love him or sacrifice him. Only Dean has to do that. And only Dean has to do everything he can for his brother. /sarcasm

That should be Dean there and Sam by his bedside, doing everything he can to save him, to make up for the season 8 crap. I hate that last season, Sam turned his back on his brother and Carver told us how "mature" it was and that it was the right thing to do. That he wrote in this "promise" they made to not save each other and how everyone from Charlie to Garth told Dean how horrible he was being to Sam for not forgiving him for not even LOOKING for him, while Sam felt zero remorse for having let his brother down (oh, and then blamed his brother for turning to other people and daring to have friends).

Now, we have the situations reversed, and they have Dean acting pathetically co dependent on the brother who kept telling him how happy he was when Dean was dead. This brother relationship is so incredibly one sided.

What's worse is that SAM is going to hate on Dean for having saved him, and I am sure the show will tell us how right he is, while Dean groveling how unworthy he is and apologizing over and over again.
