WHY SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT AND HIS COSTAR VAANI KAPOOR MISSED THEIR DATE WITH TORONTO

All the bags were packed and they were ready to go. But alas, owing to a cruel twist of fate, Sushant Singh Rajput and his co- star Vaani Kapoor recently missed going to Toronto.

Shuddh Desi Romance was initially set to release on September 13 but its release date was advanced by a week, as the film was to travel to Canada for the ongoing film festival in Toronto. The cast and crew were set to leave for Toronto but it was not to be for Sushant and Vaani.

Insiders say finally, only Parineeti Chopra managed to represent the cast at the films gala.

However, sources from the production house say Vaani was never scheduled to go, as the newbie had some portions to shoot for the upcoming Telugu version of Band Baaja Baaraat. Unfortunately for Sushant, his father fell ill and the actor had to rush to Patna to be by his side.

A source close to Vaani confirmed the buzz. Sushant remained unavailable for comment.

A small mistake in the article though. From what we know, Ankita and Sushant went to Delhi to be by his father's side, not Patna. His father lives in Delhi, and fans saw them at the Delhi airport.

Sushant really was looking forward to attending the festival. But of course, family comes first. Hope his father is better now. Earlier I had been wondering why Vaani did not get to go to TIFF, she seemed pretty excited too.

God willing, Sushant and Vaani will get more opportunities in the future. :-)

I hope his dad is ok and its nothing serious! It would have been nice if they all could have made it, but family comes first. Festivals toh phir bhi aate rahenge.

SSR was really excited to attend this tornoto film festvl!! he talked at length in Anupama Chopras show and said how he is all set with his clothes ready and bags already packed. he said he was just waiting to go!!

sad his dad got sick and good thing is SSR attended to him..even though he was really looking fwd to TIFF!
