Ian Somerhalder Calls Ex-Girlfriend Nina Dobrev's Cosmo Cover "Stunning"
Our hearts shattered when Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev split back in May, and sadly it doesn't look like the two Vampire Diaries stars will be getting back together anytime soon. So we were completely shocked when Ian publicly complimented Nina this weekend, calling her "stunning."
Ian took to Instagram to share a photo of Nina's recent Cosmopolitan cover, saying, "In a store this morning-who do I see? The one & only @ninadobrev These things are almost gone so If you haven't gotten this magazine off of a shelf-get one. One word: Stunning... Congrats Nina! Xo Ian."
Lucky for us, we don't have to guess what Nina thought of the compliment. She took to Twitter to thank her ex for his kind words:

It looks like even Nina remember's Ian's best attribute " the smoulder.
Be still our beating hearts! We know that Ian is just being nice, but the two have been keeping it very professional since the split, so this is one of their first " if not the first" adorable moments since they called it quits. We know that Nina is "looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again," but there's always a possibility of a reconciliation, right?
At least we get to see these two together on The Vampire Diaries. Sure, it may be a little awkward that their characters are madly in love with each other, but that's acting!
