Why didnt he think abt them when he was doing such a crime. why only while asking for mercy

Hanging is a very simple punishment for such crimes. Some years of Solitary confinement would be a more reasonable one. Later they can be hanged to death.

Ya hanging is simple...I think the mother asked for burning them alive

I also think death penalty is easy way out for them but my view has changed a lot recently, I just don't trust the law system to keep them locked up for a long time as at some point they would have got released on good behaviour, maybe this is the way to go but they should be tortured to death.

I can't stand the sob stories they are giving for defence, they were drunk, we have old parents, got a family, young and have a future ahead, etc. I'm disgusted! what about the poor parents who lost a daughter, who had a great future ahead of her and wanted to do so much for her own family and society. Don't know how the parents and wife and family are supporting these guys after such a terrible deed, do these women have no self respect, if it was my relation I wouldn't hesitate in hanging them out to rot.

Defense is just trying to save them from gallows. He know they don't have anything in there favor.

@angelic8219 It is bad truth of our country , for the family it is there son so they don't want to loose him what ever he has done. The girl who died was someone else daughter, so they don't care.

I wish they get the severest of punishments.And more important is that not just in this case but the verdict gets converted to a law itself.Because in this case all the victims involved are from very poor families.They cannot bribe the judges.Its only with formulation of a strict law against rape that the govt can safeguard the right of women specially when influential ppl get involved in such crimes.

And more than any1 I think the credit of success in this case goes to the media and the youth who decided to fight for justice.Being a Delhiite I know what was the condition of the city during those days. If we as citizens hadn't built so much of pressure on govt the case would still be lost in some files.The people of delhi (who protested at various sites) and the people of India(who fought for justice in their respective cities and through media like internet) deserve a round of applause.

Exactly!!! This shows how ridiculous Indian law and Order is!!! How can a person charged for brutually raping a girl be called a child?? 😡 😡 He should be hanged to death or should be given the worst punishment one cant think about, instead he is sent to special home called reform home!!! 😡

Hats off to the policemen and in my point of view they should be tortured like anything like how tortured nirbhaya and then to be hanged.And did they spared that minor he's the main one.

i echo everyone's comments...death sentence is too less...they should be kept in solitary confinement for a few years...to introspect & truly regret for what they have done...and then only hanged till death.
