Namaskaar doston😃
aaj ganesh chathurthi hai...aur hum isko dhoom dhaam se manayenge⭐️⭐️
This is an important festival among Hindu's and is celebrated with gusto all over India, during late august and early september...the celebrations go upto Ten days in some places and on the last day, the idol is immersed in sea or a lake to bid farewell to the almighty for the year..
first let me elaborate the legend behind this hugely celebrated festival...
the legend goes that, Mother Parvati, the wife of Shiv ji was alone at home in Kailash parvat where they reside...she took a clump of clay and made a figurine of a child. she breathed life into it and he was named as Ganesha. while Parvati was going on about her work, Shiv ji came home and Ganesha unaware of the identity of the visitor, blocked his path. Shiv ji in a fit of anger, severed the head of the child. When Parvati saw this, she demanded the her child be given life again. since the original head had already been cut off, an elephants head was joined to the child's neck and He came to be known as Ganapathi or the Elephant god..Lord Shiva also blessed him that, from then onwards, every pooja or any good work which is to be performed will be started by performing a pooja to Ganesh ji...there are different versions of this story but this is the most popular version..
now we shall start with the Pooja
Hibiscus and mari gold are the most important flowers today and Bilwa/bael is the most sacred fruit thats placed beside the god..and also Durva grass is considered auspicious...

then we place dhoop batti and Kalash..

The bhog or the offering to the lord..

On this day we pray that Lord Ganesha known as Vigna harta or Remover of Obstacles removes all difficulties and grants every one's wishes...👍🏼
