'I am just like my character Kusum ' - Shiny Doshi

I have to admit that I am just like my character Kusum. I am a very logical, practical and emotional person too. Also, I am a very friendly and a fun loving person, who gets along with everybody pretty well!

What made you chose a career in acting

I had done a few commercials years ago, and was never really interested in a daily soap, but when the offer that came to me was being headed by my dream director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I just couldn't refuse and somehow everything worked out for me perfectly, and now here I am!

I just feel that somewhere down the line, I am a blessed child, and hence everything I have done till now has smoothly worked out for me! But in terms of the acting part, commercials and a daily soap are very very different and hence I really had to groom myself, understand what acting was, get comfortable in front of the camera which is very important, and these were definitely challenges for me! Overall, I want to say that I've been able to overcome these challenges pretty well, as gaining confidence in a lot of these things was the biggest struggle, and this has definitely helped me build my confidence a lot.

What has your experience been like working with Gautam and Jennifer?

I have to admit that Gautam is my best buddy and co-star on set! He is a very nice and genuine person, always helping me out with my dialogues, going through my scripts, always correcting me where I am going wrong and giving me small helpful tips on how to get better. Jennifer is a sweetheart! She has always been very helpful and supportive and she too guides me on where I am going wrong and what I can do to get better. Since we share a very nice sister bond on the show, she makes sure that the emotions that we share on screen as sisters always look genuine and real, to make it look like a very tight sister bond, and always helps me work on these emotions. Overall it's been a great experience working with both Gautam and Jennifer!

Who is your favorite person from the cast of Saraswatichandra?

Gautam obviously, as we have a lot of fun together! Also Sai Ji and Alpana Ji who plays my mother on the show. I am really very fond of these people and other than that, everybody else too, as we all have a lot of fun on the set every single day!
