I am having somewhat of a hard time with this and wanted to know what you think.
It sort of pains me that Saanchi, after her MBA, will go to badi haveli and is "in training" for that with all the lessons on cooking and doing pooja and wearing heavy gaudy dresses.
On the one hand, I fully support a woman's choice to do whatever she wants. And in the same vein, I know that being professionally qualified does not mean that one HAS to work outside the home. It is a parent's responsibility to educate their daughter. Now what she does with the training is her lookout in life. And further, I also know that being educated and doing housework are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it is very good if saanchi is well-versed in cooking and tidiness, and there is nothing wrong for cooking good meals for one's husband.
But on the other hand, I cant help but feel that Saanchi's academic training is being wasted.
I try so very very hard not to be judgemental of her choices ... but really, I cant for the life of me, come to terms with it.
Is this "training" that saanchi is receiving necessary to be a well-rounded partner and wife, or is it really a waste?
what do you guys feel?

Education is never wasted in my opinion. The way you conduct yourself whether you go out for a job or your daily duties being just a homemaker changes drastically with education. Confidence, maturity, time management, mental stability, crisis management are all not meant only for those who work outside! These are some critical aspects which can be incorporated and in your everyday routine with husband, kids, etc. I think education helps us become better people and teaches us these valuable dimensions which are useful to us at any point in time throughout our lives. This is for normal people!
Now, Saanchi.. well, she is a different case.. I don't see the need to be feeling sympathetic to her degree being wasted because I don't see what good that degree did for her till now! She is acting like an illiterate person without a heart!

great reply hima.
But somehow I don't know if an MBA is required for crisis management in the haveli 😆😆
gehna and sumitra seem to be doing fine without the formal training to handle crises as we observed this week !! 🤣

😆😆 Again, I was talking about normal people with normal problems😉.. badi haveli is too badi for me to comprehend🤣.. there, educated bahus like Anandi, Gauri and Saanchi will fail miserably and bahus with minimal education like Sumitra and Gehna will rule!!😛 Hence, Saanchi out and Ganga in!!😉😆😆

I feel whether a man or woman both should be able to cook food to be independent...in Saanchi case studies and cooking food both are complete waste of time and power because she is still backward and negative in her thinking and she has no plans to do any job and she has not got any intention to do household work...Saanchi is an exception to the question u have Asked...for now basic manners and moral values is what needs to be taught to Saanchi...MBA studies and cooking or any such advance things should be left out until she learns to have maturity and sense in her
Household work is not just necessary for marriage but also become independent so everyone should learn it but it's not necessary that if one does all of this then it will help him her become a good life partner...no matter what Saanchi does if she does not adapt good nature and sense in her she will still remain unwanted proposal for marriage

Good post sectoreight. Education is never a waste. Other wise what is she going to do sitting at
Home doing nothing. Education expands your mind. It has some implicit, indirect benefits too.
Learning housekeeping skills is also not a waste. After all one has to eat good food and provide
Good food for the children. A mother who can cook well rocks IMO😃. Sanchi had no idea she will
Fall madly in love ( if you can call that) with Jagia who is from a traditional set up. Basically she has
Many options open by knowing Gatte ke Sabzi and MBA. 😆. If Jagia alliance falls thru she has
Other yuppie options to hobnob with the corporate types.MBA comes handy. She may not be useful to
The society, but would have done well for her self.😆

Nothing should be done just to become a good wife. It should be done for one's own benefit to
survive in this world. Living in the US for years, where every one takes care of their own house keeping , cleaning cooking, house repairs and maintanance etc, i think learning cooking etc will
Come very handy.Even in India too despite having servants to do things.

Education, house keeping skills, cooking skills are always useful. How I wish I had learnt some basic tailoring skills.

i agree with u partly.
but i dont think sanchi herself is interested in doing a job or anything. she wants to have everyone at the badi haveli treat her like a princess n jagya to give in to all her whims and spend a life like that only.she has no interest in studies or her career.
but yes household skills are also important for everyone be it girls or guys. like presently im studying abroad n im having so much trouble in doing things on my own as i focused on studying n never bothered to learn household chores n now i feel the importance of it when i need to manage my apartment here along with my studies. the guys here too do everything on their own n they also feel the importance of knowing how to do such small tasks which are not so small if u need to do them yourself! and thats why these things shouldnt be underestimated.
