Ranbir Kapoor all but confessed his love for Katrina Kaif yesterday. At an event held to promote his upcoming release Besharam, Ranbir was grilled in typical CBI style by the assembled media on his equation with Katrina. Keeping the title of the movie in mind, the questions directed to Ranbir were extremely unabashed.
We set the ball rolling by grilling him on his father Rishi Kapoor's statement that his son was dating A,B,C, and D where A didn't know B, B didn't know C and C didn't know D. Ranbir said even he was surprised at that news report but believed that his father meant it in good humour. "When the media asks my father questions about my personal relationship with a girl, he gets flustered because he doesn't know how to answer it."
On being asked if he was going strong with anyone Ranbir answered, "When I am going strong with somebody with whom I am looking forward to spend my life with, I will be the first person to announce it."
Ranbir was later caught in a cross-fire which had the media throwing questions revolving in and around Katrina, her bikini and their alleged affair. Refuting rumours doing the rounds, that they are getting engaged on his birthday, Ranbir said when it will happen, he will make sure to let everyone know well in advance about it.
Not willing to let go Ranbir off the hook so easily, a barrage of questions were directed towards the bikini pictures of Katrina that having been floating all over the internet. Ranbir tried his best to copy paste a diplomatic answer to each and every question concerning his lady love Katrina. The usual clichs I am single till I get married,' which is incidentally the same line that Katrina uses, started reverberating.
Not satisfied, the press almost pinned Ranbir down to one question - Katrina and her bikini picture. With a volley of questions being fired at him at breakneck pace, Ranbir finally threw in his towel and confessed, "Yes, I liked the picture and I think Katrina looked sizzling in the
bikini." Eventually, his director Abhinav Kashyap jumped into damage control mode. In between this melee, the film took a complete backseat. Had it not been for the quirky title Besharam,' it would have been completely relegated to the background.
All said and done, one cannot help but admire the dignity and the serene calmness with which the Kapoor lad answered each and every single query. One of the question was so nasty that Ranbir had to look away to clear his mind. But never even once did Ranbir lose his cool and he made sure he answered all besharam questions in a cultured and decent manner befitting the scion of the first family of Bollywood. That's perhaps why he has all the trappings to be the next superstar of Indian cinema or in Abhinav's words the greatest this country has seen.'
