Who wouldn't give a thumbs up to a skin that glows from within and looks beautiful at all times. More often than not, pollution and dust make our skin dull and lustreless. In order to keep it looking young and vibrant, blemish free and healthy, it is important to use natural beauty products or some ayurvedic ways that keep your skin feeling youthful for a long time.
Check out these ayurvedic tips for a skin you would love to be in:
- Check your diet, what you eat reflects on your face. What you eat and drink will affect your skin and face. No matter how much you pay heed to your facial care, it is important to eat right. Eat vegetables, Legumes, walnut, avocado, salmon, tomato, and pomegranate to nourish your skin. Retain your skin's glow by indulging in excessive water intake, fiber food and good fats. Adding seeds like almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and other nuts to your diet are a great way to have a skin that glows for a long time. Foods that contain Omega-3s, healthy fats and fiber are great sources for your skin.
- Drinking a lot of water is as good as using the best skin care products. Water hydrates your skin and purifies your body. Cooling herbs, and spices such as mint and cardamom are great for your skin. Avoid spicy food and specially if you have acne, you must avoid food that is high on spices. Holy basil leaves are good source for a great skin that is free of acne and patches.
- Use pasteurized milk face pack. Mix turmeric powder, milk and sandalwood paste to make a really nutritious skin face pack. Apply for 10-15 minutes and wash it off after sometime for an instant glow that stays for long. Repeat it as much as you can.
- Use a herbal scrub to exfoliate your face. Use a non soapy based cleanser that deep cleanses your skin without leaving it dry. Avoid chemical based products, either go for natural beauty products or make it yourself at home with almond meal, oatmeal, milk, a little lemon, neem and rosewater.
- Make your own herbal moisturizer. Mix yogurt with a tablespoon of both lemon and orange juice and use as a face mask. Leave it on your face for a while and wash it off with lukewarm water.
- Condition your skin with a mixture of two tablespoon of cream with honey, leave it on for 5 minutes and remove with a wet cotton ball.
- Rub a raw potato or use orange juice to get the glow you desire. This also helps you get rid of pigmentation.
- Try aromatherapy and sleep well at least for 7-8 hours a day.
