IS ZOYA NAJAAYAZ? **** I feel, not.

And all of you can correct me, because as far as I have seen nothing has been clearly said about this issue in the show!😊(I could have missed something😳)

I'd like to request you all to ponder about this...because this is a basic detail that has not been clarified in the show. I don't think there are solid evidences FOR or AGAINST this.

So, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS:

For one thing, Zoya has never considered herself najayaz or inferior to any one else...as far as she is concerned, HER ABBU LEFT THEM...it is about DESERTION and not, ILLEGITIMACY, I feel.

The scene of Koran reading in Asad's house...Zoya had proudly stated that she was not to be SYMPATHISED WITH, because she was an orphan...she was so ferocious about it...it came across as a woman who is PROUD OF HER ORIGINS, and UPBRINGING...giving due to her birth parents, and her adoptive parents...

Never have I seen Zoya lamenting about the fact that she could be illegitimate...

Coming to Siddiqui: He is ready to accept his first born back...for a man of his stature to be able to do that, could mean that Zainab was his legal wife.

Raziya had screamed that Zainab was about to take her HAQ from her...the haq of a FIRST WIFE? Was that what had enraged her? Here was a woman, who could not be turned away, calling her a tainted woman...because she was not- Gaffur could very well have married her.

Back to Gaffur: He does not lament Zainab's death...only cries for the child- HIS BLOOD.. This could mean that he did not really love the mother enough to stand up for her against his family...

What could have happened?

I think there is a possibility he married Zainab who was a US citizen- to avail the benefits that came with it...QUITE A COMMON THING ACTUALLY, na...Gaffur could have done the same.

He returned to India and his family found him Raziya...who was probably from a well to do family...considering the abandoned Siddiqui house Zoya found...he buckled under pressure and simply did not return back to US.

Zainab came with her three year old child in search of her husband...and Raziya finds a woman has come to take her haq from her...blinded by anger and fear...she kills her.

(Even Zeenat aapi does not know much about Zoya's parents, because Zainab had not been in touch with them during this period. But I don't know, if anywhere Zeenat has mentioned that Zoya was illegitimate.)

Just offering another POV for Zoya's story...Do tell me if there were other pointers that I missed.😳

If this is the case, and Zoya is not najayaz...GAFFUR WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM ACCEPTING Her, KEEPING HIS DIGNITY INTACT...he can simply say that the child was of his first wife who had died in an accident, and the child had been lost till now.

(P.S: This thought came thanks to a discussion I had with CC on another thread...thank U dear, for helping me come up with another THEORY'😉😆)

valid points...but so far i'm still under the impression that ghafoor did not marry Zainab..but you may be right as well...maybe they did...hmmm...this calls for rewatching of old episodes with the flashbacks...maybe there's some clue we missed 😃 i just love to have reasons to rewatch old episodes (not like i don't rewatch them anyways 😆)

From what I remember, I think Razia said that Zoya is an illegitimate child. While talking to Badi bi, she said that Gaffur was in US before he came back and married Raz. He fell in love with Zainab there and they probably had a relationship and then wanted to get married. But Gaffur returned to India and due to family pressure, he couldn't go back and married Raz. And he didn't know about Zoya. It was only later when Zainab came and told Razia the truth and then Raz took revenge. This is my impression.
