Too slow? Too fast? NAH!

PS; I'm ranting here so if you don't like random scribbles then you should probably just exit straight away, haha :)

So yesterday me and my mum were watching this old show on Rishtey (mainly her because she loves her dramas, well I do too but there's only a few that I do watch =p) and I SWEAR I was getting stressed by the amount of *dishum dishum* shocked face effects and the way it took the police ages to handcuff the guy even though the guy clearly dropped his gun and there was a MOMENT WHEN THEY COULD HAVE ARRESTED HIM! *okay, Z! Calm, just stay calm* I felt like my head was bursting from the amount of stupidity shown on TV.

ANYWAY. Why am I telling you all this? Well, if there's one thing that can make or break a show, then that is the TIME. Like seriously, you wouldn't want to watch something that takes 10 years for the guy to make a move! Once I watched a show where the leads were getting married and the whole wedding actually took a WEEK of real time to end. I just. I just can't fathom how much anxiety I was feeling then. Siiigh!

AND THEN. There are those shows that take leaps like its the only thing they know.
Monday = Leads meet.
Tuesday = They fall in love.
Wednesday = They get married.
Thursday = Life after marriage.
Friday = Female Lead falls pregnant.
Saturday = Life after children.
Sunday = Gets ready for a 20 year leap.
Monday = the leads children meet other second leads.
BASICALLY THE WHOLE CIRCLE STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN.

And then. One day (like a few days back) a friend mentioned that DDEJ was actually going quite slow but now it seems to be getting quite pacy as Raghu-Antara "fall in love" - so it got me thinking. Is it really? Yes the arguments and misunderstandings have set the show back in terms of time but from what I think those were actually quite needed. If anything the arguments and misunderstandings was what changed Antara and Raghu's misconception of each other. She no longer sees him as a "gunda" and he no longer sees her as a girl who can't look after herself. The only thing I would say is that the whole Noor and Arshad (Is that his name?) angle might be going too fast if its only there so that Raghu and Antara can interact with each other (you know seeing as Raghu is essentially from Arshad's side and Antara from Noor's). But apart from that I think the pace has been well set thus far. Especially Daya Mai's entrance! Okay I understand since Kamya left the show even before her entry and the creatives had to look for a replacement, I think till now (if she is going to have her entry later this week or so), its probably the right time. Raghu and Antara are understanding each other and though they were not exactly in love (though they do admire each other, most likely mutually), it'd be interesting to see how Raghu interacts with Antara - the girl who is morally right and is changing him for the better, on one side - and Daya Mai - the woman who is like his mother and the one who controls the basti on the other.

SO my question for you guys is, do you think the show is going too slow or too fast?

zahara...i think i saw ur posts in any other forum...or may be in this forum...do u..i mean somehow visited junnon forum or pkyek forum?
btw gr8 post...i actually loved to read ur posts so i remembered u...
and true to say i think the show is going not too slow,not too fast but in a good pace..whenever it needs speed the story mooves faster and when the speed should be turned down a bit it's going according to that...
it actually grips the storyline and moves as it requires...thats what i like so much..

Honestly speaking, I'm loving the pace of the show...the only place I thought the pace could've picked up a little was during the dance competition...though otherwise all the scenes in the show have been situational and definitely needed for future understanding between the two...and I most definitely agree with you about time when it comes to some other Indian shows, they frustrate me to no end!...probably to the point where I feel like pulling my hair out lol!...

so this is where u are 😆

reserving!! ohh i LOVE my castiel there

unres-ing

****

Z...awesome post! as always..love the gifs .. and there is my two favs...the woman who looks scary beyond all reasons😆 and castiel who interrogates cats! 🤣 ahem coming to the post

there are times i felt like the show was too slow when they showed one scene at a time during the time when antara first started working in daya mai's home but since the dance competition, the pace have increased to a steady and enjoyable level that i myself have no complaints AT ALL!

i guess the slow pace was indeed needed to build a sort of foundation before making any more progress with the actual work on their relationship. they both started off their relationship through dislike i shud say though raghu did not really thought that about her until she started being judgy 😆 but now its all in the past now. they needed a sort of emotional push from both sides

and do not get me started on other shows😆 the amount of repetitive and bizarre tracks shown have made me swore off such other shows. not naming here any mind u but this show have so far shown originality. one can really relate it in a way. i'm loving this fresh new love story. 😃

so to conclude, i shud say, this show is neither too fast nor too slow. it is just right!

I really hope the standard of the show is maintained as I tend to start a show...love it...then get a little frustrated with it...then eventually stop watching altogether...there have probably been only a couple of shows that I've actually watched till the very end...I'm hoping that DDEJ is one of them...

The only week I felt it was a drag was during the dance competition, it did not help that the dance competition was over advertised, we knew what was going to happen days before and the episode before the ME was a serious drag,one whole episode on Raghu going to Kalyan mandir but I also feel that it was a result of Ayaz and Nikita being ill. otherwise the pace of the show has been on the money, never found it dragging or the plots being suddenly brought around
