Young Prachi Desai is on double duty, with her shoots and exams Back to Section Stories

Ranjib Mazumder Prachi Desai who plays the innocent Bani in Kasamh Se is otherwise a normal teenager who has to deal with exams and other such adolescent angst. Right now, she is trying to maintain a balance with busy shooting schedules and studying for her HSC board exams in her hometown, Pune. Prachi Desai Prachi says, "This is a very tricky phase for me. I am juggling with both, studies and shooting commitments. But academically, this year is crucial as these are Board exams. I've just appeared for my computer exam today. The rest are spaced out over the next month." So how does she manage the shooting schedules? "By shuffling between Pune and Mumbai for the shoot," says Prachi. "As it's a daily soap, we have to shoot continuously. Thankfully, I have a break between exams and I will be able to shoot in that interval. Ekta is very understanding." How has she been faring at studies, given her long absences from college? "When the serial had just started, I could not appear for my exams as there was too much pressure. Even now, most of the scenes in Kasamh Se are between me and Ram Kapoor. But now the track can be diverted a bit, so that I can appear for the exams. As far as my preparation is concerned, obviously I won't be as good as the other students. But I'm going to go ahead and give it my best shot," she says. Will Prachi continue her studies? "I am only eighteen. I know being an actress of a daily soap, I won't be able to concentrate on studies and I have to take each day as it comes. But my dream is to graduate in Psychology," she says.

The best part about PD is that despite all the name and fame she has garnered in just over a year, the girl is so damn grounded and sensible! 😃

And by the look of it, she seems to remain so for the rest of her life!
