PREITY ZINTA

In Preity's signature, the 'P' is small, not any larger than the rest of the letters and she has also not written her full name. The simple 'P' indicates that she is very down-to-earth and does not show off. But she has a somewhat childish nature and likes a lively atmosphere. The dot after 'P' indicates that though she appears to be very open and friendly, she actually maintains a distance from people. In the surname, 'Z' is big and is given a lot of importance. Overall the surname is big which shows she is very attached to her family. Her simple signature indicates that she is not very worried about her career. The slant to the left too indicates that she is family- oriented and actually an introvert.

Preity Zinta and Rituparno Ghosh come together

Priety Zinta is stylish, classy and of course choosy. Preity has said yes to Rituparno Ghosh's English movie based on the late thespian Utpal Dutt's play 'Aajker Shahjahan'. Zinta's publicist Tanujaa Mehra says, "Zinta is very keen to do the film, and hopefully the deal should be finalised in about a week's time." The film to be produced by Planman Motion Pictures also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal and Jisshu Sengupta. Subho Shekhar Bhattacharya, CEO of Planman Motion Pictures had said earlier that two heroines were required for the leads. Preity has done Armaan, Lakshya, Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna with Mr Bachchan, so let's us see how this one fares. Sure the combination along with Rituparnpo creates a lot of expectation!

Wedding bells ringing for Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia

Every top notch couple in Bollywood seems to have decided to get married in 2007. After the 'assumedly-secretive' relation of Ash and Abhishek was made public, media is up again with stories of Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia marriage. Preity who turned 32 on Wednesday has nothing other than "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom" for release in 2007. Looks like a good time for marriage then! But her would-be mother-in-law Maureen Wadia, unlike Jaya Bachchan for Ash, is not too happy with the relation. Maureen apparently had publicly mentioned that she doesn't care if Ness got married to a "Zebra". Hmm…she definitely looks inspired by Ekta Kapoor's 'K' series vamps. Whatever be Maureen's wish, if Ness (heir to Bombay Dying Group) and Preity get married then this wedlock would be the second greatest matrimony between a Bollywood star and business tycoon after Tina and Anil Ambani.

Preity Zinta in news again

A fake telephonic conversation between Salman and Aishwarya will again be in court thanks to Preity Zinta. While the telephonic conversation was actually in court for clartifications, a Mumbai based tabloid had libeled against Preity whose name had been included in the conversation in an objectionable manner.

Back then when the case was cleared as fake Preity had filed a defamation case against the tabloid and at present she is to bear witness to it in a mumbai court. Preity actually doesn't need much effort to be in news, is it?

Preity Zinta defends boyfriend Ness

Preity Zinta's celebrity-tycoon-boyfriend Ness Wadia was accused of beating up some laborers at midnight outside her Bandra House. Instead of giving a clarification to the press Preity blamed the media of being irresponsible and asked, "Tell me, which place in India do you have workers working in a building at 12 O'clock at night?" According to a news channel Ness, a regular visitor at Preity's Bandra house, got irritated with the noise the labourers were creating outside her house and manhandled them. Well, well, well…whether Ness actually had manhandled the laborers or not is a different matter but yes…the pair- Ness and Preity never fail to make news!

Wanna go green with envy??? check this out…

Have you guys envied Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in the title song of 'Garam Masala'??? Frankly speaking, I have! Come on guys… did you see the way those two men were manhandling those gori choris… and just when my envy and jealousy was dying down (it take a long long time to come down!), Sajid Nadiawala announced the title song of his forthcoming film 'Hey Baby'!!!

The song ain't any ordinary number people… it features Akki, Fardeen Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh and… hold your breath — Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley, Dia Mirza, Ayesha Takia, Amisha Patel, Koena Mitra, Neha Dhupia, Minissha Lamba, Payal Rohatgi, Amrita Rao, Aarti Chabria, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Riya Sen and Sophie Choudhary!!!

And if that ain't enough, Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Sameera and Sushma Reddy might also be a part of that ONE SONG!!! Trust me guys, my heart is paining much more than my fingers after typing all those names it's gonna be a visual extravaganza alright… but the acting schools all over India will definitely have a huge crowd coming their way after the film is released!

After all, chance maarne mein kya jaata hai yaar

Photo Feature: Preity and Rani play holi with SRK
By IndiaFM News Bureau, February 26, 2007 - 06:45 IST

Come March 1st 2007 and the entire nation will rejoice in the colourful festival of Holi. And when it comes to celebrations, Star Plus knows how to pull it off best. Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherji graced the hot seats in a special Holi episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

The Don of the show, Shah Rukh Khan, flanked by two Bollywood beauties, opened the show in sheer style. He hummed a song from his film Don and escorted the duo to their seats. Living upto the true spirit of 'Holi Hungama', SRK introduced the lifelines of the show as 50:50 Ki Pichkari Hai; Audience Poll Ki Gulaal Hai; Phone A Friend Ka Rang Hai and Flip Ki Gujjia Hai!

Rani and Preity played in full spirit, as there were moments of anxiety and laugher alike. They announced that they will donate the prize amount to Holy Family Hospital and Himachal Pradesh Red Cross institutes. The show, of course, could not be complete without sweets and water balloons.

The audience was left star-struck in the true sense as Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity danced away to Mahi Ve. This special KBC episode will be aired 1st March on Star Plus.

Holi with Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity

Like a king with his subjects.'
This was the line flashing through my mind when Shah Rukh Khan made his flamboyant entry and bowed low before the audience. Far fetched? Not really. Not when it is associated with King Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood. This one heady moment is worth the long wait in innumerable queues that being part of the audience of Kaun Banega Crorepati entails. When my cousin working with a media agency called saying he had audience passes to the show, and asked if I was interested, I jumped at the chance. I am a die-hard romantic and no one romances the heroines better than Shah Rukh Khan. Reason enough for me -- and a few million others, of course -- to simply adore the man. Holi with Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity

The shoot took place on February 13 and we queued up at the venue in Mumbai's Film City at 10 am. Our passes were carefully inspected, names tallied and then the long wait started.
Those who carried mobile phones, handbags, sunglasses et al were requested to line up to deposit the items in safety lockers. We could not even keep pens and paper with us, dashing my hopes of the prized autograph. After around two hours of waiting, a crew member instructed us that we were to start entering the studio in the sequence in which he called out pass numbers. Once inside, I was surprised to see how small the set was -- it looks pretty big on television. The lucky ones were those who were assigned the first row. On this day, the front row rather appropriately comprised a set of giddy headed college girls, soon to make the most of their good fortune.

In the picture: Preity and Rani look nervous as they try to answer a question. They will donate the prize money to the Himachal Pradesh Red Cross and Holy Family Hospital respectively.

Holi with Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity

Another hour passed, during which we were instructed about the code of conduct expected of the audience. We were to look enthusiastic, maintain decorum and laugh and clap at the right places. In case some of us missed the joke, the 'laughter' sign above our heads would be flashed!
Then, since this was the Holi special episode, we were put through a rehearsal of sorts. We were to enthusiastically respond 'Holi hai' and 'Wah wah' and 'Haan jee' to Shah Rukh's questions as part of his little act. At this point, many among the audience were getting restless, and the refrain 'But where is Shah Rukh?' was audible. Then, after what seemed forever, came the big moment. A lady informed us that Shah Rukh was on the set and then, with a 'Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Shah Rukh Khan,' he was upon us!

In the picture: Rani looks for some divine intervention while Preity concentrates on the question.

Holi with Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity

The audience went wild as he flamboyantly went to each side, bowing low and aadaabing in that inimitable manner. 'Shah Rukh, we love you!' screamed the girls.
Much has been said about Shah Rukh Khan's charisma and energy. But when you see him interacting with his fans, you realise that there is also a lot of humility in him. His manner is of one who acknowledges that he owes his iconic status to the love of the common man. Even the pesky, overbearing and almost rude were handled with deference by the star.

In the picture: Rani gives SRK a high five.

Holi with Shah Rukh, Rani and Preity

The Holi special episode saw two celebrity guests on the show: Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta. They were introduced by Shah Rukh as 'The two most beautiful women in the world,' and indeed both looked beautiful.
Priety was glamour personified, even in a simple salwar kurta. As for Rani, the camera does not do justice to her -- it adds pounds to her super slim frame. Both were friendly, talking and laughing easily with the audience. The shoot didn't take too long. A few retakes, a lot of friendly bantering between the ladies and Shah Rukh, and it was a wrap. Shah Rukh made it all look so easy. There weren't any awkward moments.

In the picture: Living upto the spirit of the Holi special show, Preity applies rang to SRK, while the actor introduces colourful lifelines -- 50:50 ki pichkari hai, Audience Poll ki gulaal hai, Phone A Friend ka rang hai and Flip ki gujjia hai.

SRK was energetic, his manner spontaneous even in the retakes. His impromptu wit always funny, never offensive. And of course, the famed charisma. You realise it is not one of his traits in isolation that is the secret of his phenomenal success. It is the unique sum of all.
After the shoot, Shah Rukh went over to each segment of the audience and hugged and shook hands with them. Pictures were clicked, and then, as suddenly as he had come, he was gone. Rani and Preity went with him, leaving us -- the audience -- with a memory we would cherish for a long time to come. KBC's special Holi episode will be aired on Thursday, March 1 at 9.00 pm on Star Plus.
