Part 5:
I reached Bhopal and went to NAM foundation directly from the station. I met Mr. Mishra and asked him to explain me about the current situation.
He said, "Aditya came to me one year back asking for 10lakhs. When I asked him for purpose, he told me that he is setting up a business and is falling short of funds. After a lot of consideration, i gave in to his demand of money. I gave it on condition that he deposits the money into Foundation funds within a year. It has been a year now and I have been calling him regarding this issue for past 2 months. And he has been disconnecting my call. So I had to call you for this issue."
"I see. But Aditya has never told me about any of these things. His business is actually doing well now. What could be the consequences if the amount is delayed?"
Mishra said, "Ma'am, this in legal words is a fraud case. No one can use the funds of a Foundation for personal reasons. I will be the first one to get into trouble; and to get out of it, i will have to reveal the truth to the police and court."
I asked him for one week time to gather the funds. In the meanwhile, I decided to not ask Addu about it, as of now. I will talk to him once we both are home.
Since I have to stay in Bhopal for some time, I had taken mansion keys from Guru and asked the driver to take me to that house. On the way, I saw Beera waiting for taxi. I called out to him. Shortly after, we both went to our house. On seeing me in Bhopal, Beera flooded the living room with questions on if everything is alright.
I explained the NAM Foundation case to him. He offered to help. Since Nanhi was also out of town, he didn't mind staying back in Bhopal for a few more days. While I cooked some dinner for both of us, he called up the office and did the needful.
Over dinner, we discussed over what we can do. We had some options like: fixed deposit on Mohan's name, a personal loan from bank, and the savings in my bank account that I had owned jointly with Mohan. But Beera rejected all options saying that this has been created by Addu and using family savings would not be right.
After a lot of brainstorming, we came to a conclusion to mortgage this house in Bhopal as no one lives here now. Beera said he would go with me tomorrow to talk with the bank.
I thought Addu had changed for better. Then why is he not returning the money? If this becomes a case, Mohan would be very upset to see his hard work being tainted with fraud.
NAM Foundation is the key that will unravel more such secrets.
