The Cvs perhaps showed it this way for the viewers- that Jalal cannot read or write. Or to show that Ruquaiya is insecure and hates Jodha so she wants to keep away from her things/gift etc.

i feel ruqu is child at heart

she just knows to demand

but i feel she is good hearted she is not that bad

she is childish now but after loosing baby may be she will realize that she is not child anymore and the value of life is fulfilled with gifts and position in harem

the value of life is upheld coz of love
