The movie was remade in Kannada as well, the lead played by Suhasini, called 'Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iRgNQ4Vs8Q

Looks like it has remakes in quite a few languages including Hindi, Jeevan Dhara, it's a popular storyline, now it's a TV series😛, hope they modernize it and give it a happy ending!!

I was wondering about all the disclaimers when the show started, about resemblance to any character etc. - now we know why..😆
