I truly agree with you from Humeira's point of view but its Ayaan's restraint that seems out of character - he's so used to bull dozing his way in and stating his thoughts and expecting everyone to fall in with it - why isn't he saying what he wants to to Humeira's face - whether she accepts it or not is another matter. At least let her hear it and let her begin to understand that it may not be all that hopeless...
I think he's going about it all wrong. By stating he wants to start afresh, he is asking her to forget the past when he needs to address the past and admit he was wrong before Humeira can start forgiving him and moving forward.
