Ok, was halfway done with my katha and then it just vanished...lagta hai Tishdi is right, Ameesha zaroor kuch kar rahi hogi....
...So, Must start over...
So much has happened in the past 2 days, I just couldn't resist making time for a DK Katha. This will probably be a long one, so sit back, and lets take a trip down recap lane...lets see how much I can do before i have to go to work...this may have to come in installments!
Lets start with the cliff hanging scene. It was sooo heartbreaking to see Kaju so terrified when her Jaan was hanging from the cliff! She was already starting to become hysterical when she didn't see him, but then, when she saw her Devu hanging from that rock, she lost it completely! I don't blame her for trying to find help on that pahadi, in her state of mental distress, I'd probably do something seemingly stupid too! So, what does she do? Call on Gannu Bhaiya of course! As always, Gannu Bhaiya to the rescue!
Lekin, is baar Gannu Bhaiya ne bhi madat li...Hanuman ji se! Hanuman ji ne Kaju ke dupatte mein metal threading kar di, usko aur mazboot banane ke liye (all the while Gannu Bhaiya was adding fabric to it to make it longer) aur phir Hanuman ji ne unki thodi si shakti Kaju ko dedi, aur Kaju Superwoman ban gayi!
Must mention a funny point in the storyline here...dunno if you guys noticed this, but if you look closely, when Kaju throw's the dupatta to Dev for the second time (this time w/ a rock tied to it), Apu actually takes both of his hands off the rock he was supposed to be holding on to for dear life, and for a split second, defies all laws of gravity, and floats in the air, just before he manages to catch the dupatta! And thanks to the metal threading, the dupatta doesn't break from his weight! 😆 Sorry, just thought that sequence was funny and completely unrealistic - but then again, this is show biz - and indian soaps - kuch bhi ho sakta hai!
So FINALLY Devu reaches the top of the cliff, and Kaju is soo shaken, she practically plunges toward him, without giving Devu time to sit up correctly! It looked in that scene as if poor Devu's neck would snap into two peices!
And then, the moment we've all been waiting 3 months for!!!! The HUG!!! A REAL LIFE, NO ALCOHOLIC INFLUENCE HUG!!!!!! I don't even know where to start with this! It was sooo passionate....the look on Dev's face was PRICELESS!!! That hug summed up everything Dev and Kaju have felt for one another thru the course of the last three months....every single sentiment from love to passion, fear, sorrow, and anger was all summed up in that one hug. It was sooo intense...the way they were both clinging to one another as if their lives depended on it! I just can't get over it...I've seen the clip over and over again, and it gives me goosebumps every time. It was as if they were trying to, in that one hug, become part of one another - unite their bodies and souls into one. It was so magical...and then Kaju says..."shukar hai aap theek hai - agar aap ko kuch ho jaata to mein to ma..." and she doesn't finish her sentence b/c all the sudden, she remembers that he threw her out of the house...and just like that, its over. The mind takes control over the heart, and they both slowly loosen their grip.
And Kaju goes back to call him Dev Sir! Isn't it funny though that even after telling herself that this was the same man that threw her out of the house, upon seeing blood oozing from his forehead, is all the sudden worried about him again and is concerned about taking him to the hospital...aur vo massouri vapis jaana chahti thi! 😆 Silly Kaju!
And the next scene...so sweet...Devu wakes up from his uncouncious state in the hospital to find Kaju passed out with her head on his hospital bed, with her hand held firmly over his!!! The way she was holding his hand was as if she let go, he might be hurt again...there was so much fear and protection even in the way she was holding her hand...and Devu didn't fail to notice it!
And next Kaju and Devu both go home, and have to explain the the families. I am SO glad Dev just came out and told Nayan mom that he was with Kaju! If he hadn't, N Mom wouldn't have called Kaju and Bua/Hottie wouldn't have come to know about DK! I LOVE Nayan Mom!!!! I think she's a star! Jab bhi Devu ko kuch ho jaata hai, to seedha bahu ko phone karti hai! And Kaju almost said she was able to save his life, but then, instead of taking credit for it, instead, said, "bhagwan ki kripa se sab kuch teek ho gaya..." It was so sweet! And the way NT mom was thanking Kaju for saving her bachcha's life was so real, so heartfelt. There was so much love in her voice for Kaju in that moment! It was WONDERFUL! I love these saas-bahu scenes!!!
And based on the convers that Kaju had w/ Nayan mom, Bua/Hottie came to know that Kaju was w/ Devu and then finally gathered the courage to ask Kaju about her feelings for Devu...and Kaju, without holding anything back, finally told her family of her love for Dev, and her misfortune, as Dev was only in love with one person, who was no longer in this world. It was all just so beautifully done - so simply...with such subtlety!
And all the while, Devu is up all night, lost in thoughts of his Kaju!!
**Part 2**
I LOVE THE CLOTHES DEV WEARS TO SLEEP!!! White pants and a red shirt - YUMMY!!! Sorry, just had to get that out...ok, back to the story...
So Devu is up thinking about his Kaju barfi...and he can't seem to figure out ki uski taqdeer usse kya chahti hai...I can't help but feel bad for Devu! He's in such a tight spot...but I think he's brought it on himself...If he'd just tell the girl he loves her, then the whole sandook plan would fail miserably, and he could live happily ever after! It so hard though, because he's doing what he thinks is best for his Love...the poor child just doesn't know any better. He doesn't realize he's hurting himself more than helping the situation. And he's so frustrated with himself, and with his "taqdeer" because of it. The whole thing is just so upsetting - so heartbreaking....I just wanna go hug him tight and help him fix all his problems! Poor baby!
And now, a few words dedicated to my new Hero - VEERU!!!! I LOVE THIS GUY!!! I just wanna go hug him tight for finally growing a brain of his own!!! He goes to Devu and just says "Go Away"! It was sooo cute how he was so desperately trying to get Dev to believe him! And Devu, the way he kept saying "bhai" - at first u could tell he was so irritated that someone had disturbed his thoughts of Kaju, but as soon as he saw Veeru, his anger was calmed, and the way he says "bhai"!!! Hai, it was SO cute!!! And then he says "mein thak gaya hoon bhai, sorry" hehe! Devu is just tooo cute! Poor Veeru though - I feel bad for him these days - if only Ameesha would shut up people would believe the kid. He's going through some serious mental and physical trauma because of her and he's got to be SO frustrated because he just seems so tired of trying to prove himself and no one wants to listen! I feel bad for him too! Poor guy....
To dono bhaiyo ka ye haal hai - aur bada bhai kahin dikha hi nahin de raha - Where is that Karan ka bachcha anyway? He'd set things straight if he was there I think!
And Devu too is so worried about Veeru's haalat - he thinks everyone is so pareshaan because of him..."yahan par Veer bhaiya pareshaan hai, aur vaha Kaajjal - pata nahi vo mere baare mein kya soch rahi hogi"....He's so worried about Kaju and what she must think of him. After all, she means so much to him that her opinion of him means everything....vo uske pyaar ki aankhon mein girna nahin chahta, lekin he thinks that Kaju ki bhalai ke liye, usko ye bhi karna padega....poor Devu....I just can't get over how bad of a situation he's in....its just soo sad!
Dev ye soch raha hai, to Kaju ko bhi uski fikar hai....wondering what happened to Payal to have changed Dev's life so much - she wants to find out what happened that took his smile away so that she can find a remedy and bring it back forever. Hai, kya pyaar hai! Par kaun usse bataayega Payal ke baare mein?
DHRUV TO THE RESCUE!! I think Gannu Bhaiya sent him today!!
I hate this kabab mein haddi that doesn't know what the heck he's thinking/feeling/talking about, but today, he was a Godsend! He told Kaju about Payal! I loved him today in the restaurant! I wanted to hug him tight and thank him from the bottom of my heart! Dhruv's character needs development, but if he comes at times like this and helps DK in this way, then I don't mind him at all!
Dhruv tells Kaju that Payal was Dev's PATNI!!!! The look on Kaju's face was PRICELESS!!! She was So taken aback! And all the sudden, everything made a little bit more sense to her....today, through Dhruv, she was able to peer a little more into the Heart of her Dev Pratap Singh...and therefore, learned a little bit more about why he was the way he was. Aur phir, her curiosity was sparked a bit further. What was it that happened to Payal that was so traumatizing? She's so eager to know the reason behind the pain her Devu is going through so that she can fix it. She wants so much to understand so that she can help him. Akhir, "Na chahte hue bhi, mujhe unki bahut fikar hoti hai"....
I just can't get over this Love, guys. Its so beautiful...Dev is torturing himself in order to keep his Love safe, and Kaju is in pain because her Love is in pain, and she doesn't understand why and now, she's going to give her love up out of respect for Dev's first love that he "can't forget"....I can't even explain the things that I'm feeling right now...They both care so much, but for the sake of the other, refuse to act on their feelings...they're both sacrificing themselves for the sake of the other....and Dhruv thinks what he's feeling for Kaju is love...he has no idea....
"Truthfully stated, Simply put, the whole thing is just Wonderful!" This show goes above and beyond the norms of Indian TV....and that too, with such simplicity - which I think is its most wonderful, appealing quality...that plus amazing actors...especially (of course) Apu, Surveen, and Ratiji....these three are just amazing when it comes to their "acting" ability...but its like they're not even acting - they step into the shoes of the character completely, and that definitely comes across in their performances...they're just outstanding!
And finally, coming to my billi turned sheru, Veer!! Again, the poor guy needs to be SAVED from his witch of a wife! I think once the whole Dev/Sandook thing is done, and Devu's finally out of Danger, Veeru should gather even more courage and slap some divorce papers across the witch's face!
Oh but what a STAR he was today!!! I just felt so bad for him because he had to fight SO hard to do what he needed to do, but he was just so amazingly persistent! I loved it!! I felt so bad the way he was running from the hospital van today - I couldn't help but think he probably hasn't eaten for 2 days and is drugged up - he shouldn't have been running in that condition! But he was just great today! He outwitted everyone aur akhir mein uska kaam ho hi gaya! I could kiss him for what he did today! Finally, Dev came to know that Veeru wasn't lying...so now, he can save Veeru from stupid Ameesha and hopefully share the news with Nayan mom too, so that we can head speedily towards a wonderful Valentine's day....I think the Valentine's day epi will be all thanks to a bit of interference from NT Mom, Toote Dhol Bua, aur of course, Gannu Bhaiya....
And I'm PRAYING that Kaju goes and talks to Nayan mom about Devu's past...and also that Dhruv learns the truth about DK...its about time he found out - poor guy upne aap ko joothi umeedein de raha hai, aur in the end he'll be so heart broken...and, he'll think Devu decieved him...
So, predictions for the future:
Dev will share the scroll with Nayan Mom, they will both save Veeru from Ameesha's claws, and NT Mom, Buaji and Gannu Bhaiya will work together to fix things between DK....
In conclusion, I'd just like to say, the entire creative team for this show, is BRILLIANT!
