"Vivan, I can beat you in a game of arm wrestling any time"
Vivan just smiled at his cousin. His cousin was a slick type, to handsome for his own good, cocky and arrogant, yet at the same time, wore his heart on his sleeve. Shiv was one of a kind in a world full of crazy people.
"Oh please Bhi, your weaker then Barbi.", Vivan loved to goad his big brother, it was so much fun to watch angry expressions makes its way across Shiv's face. The way his eyes glazed over, and his brow wrinkled, the best part was when he opened his mouth to say something.
His voice became loud enough to wake the dead.
"VIVAN, DO NOT COMPARE ME TO A BARBI DOLL!"
"Sorry Bhiya, what can I do, the truth must come out."
Vivan smiled and started running before Shiv decided to beat him into a pulp.
He crashed into Maheen instead.
"Vivan…calm down son. Where is Shiv, I need to speak to him."
Vivan pointed behind him, and made a dash for the door before Shiv got to him.
Shiv crashed into Maheen instead.
"What is the matter with you two, you both act like little children rather then grown men"
"Oh, Father, calm down."
"Shiv, I have to talk to you about something very important"
"What is it now father, do you want me to quite your stupid business, I would love to, or do you want to take me to a party so you can show me off to your business rivals?" Shiv said, his voice dripping with contemp.
"Please, Shiv, be serious. I want you to meet my best friends youngest daughter. She is a very sweet girl, educated, and cultured. It is time you stop acting like a spoiled child, and settle down."
"ME settle down. HHAHAHAH. Have you lost your mind father. ME! THE SHIV KAPOOR! Marry! Ha. How absurd. I am one of the most eligible bachelors in town Father."
"Well, every bachelor has his day, yours is just here a little sooner, get ready we leave in an hour"
"Your serious aren't you Father?"
"I am always serious"
"That's the problem" Muttered Shiv.
"What did you say", asked Maheen.
"Oh, no nothing."
"Come down, look nice, and brush that hair." Maheen ordered, as he made his way out of Shivs room.
"Me marry. Never. I would never want to bring an innocent girl into this hallow house hold. There is nothing here. I will not be able to love her. I don't even know how to LOVE someone. Father will show her off to the world as though she is some trophy, and mother, god knows what she will do. The women cannot seem to make any room for anyone but herself. I will reject her. No matter what happens, I don't want someone to suffer through a marriage with me"
"Why do you say such things Bhi"
Shiv whipped around to see Vivan standing in the doorway, his face concerned.
"You're a great person Bhi, you have a lot to offer to a girl"
"A marriage doesn't only mean I offer Vivan, but the FAMILY. I don't have a family. I have a business tycoon father, and a self centered mother, and to much money. That does deem itself acceptable."
"Bhi, just give the girl a chance."
"Ok, I will because you say so, but that is all, I have every right to reject her."
"Ok, just give her a chance before you jump to conclusions."
Shiv heaved a heavy sigh, and went towards his closet. He picked out his two thousand dollar Armani, and frowned. His life was full of lavish clothing, nice cars and social extravaganzas, but one thing that has always lacked within the four walls called home was love.
