Hey guys,
Long time no post but this is a reactionary post to all those chhanchhan going off news. This really saddens me that a show that had been extended to March is now being rumoured of being pulled off air even with an amazing cast, lead pair and fresh story. Why is it that the indian audiences who are actually able to control the TRPs of a show don't watch shows like Chhanchhan but are able to watch rubbish that is Saath Nibhana Saathiya? (sorry but that show just has no logic in my opinion)
So this is a sincere request to all my fellow indian forum people to watch ChhanChhan if you can when it airs in India. Even if the show goes off air, at least the show will end on a high or we might even manage to keep it going til March. I think we owe it to Sanaya, Anuj and Supriyaji who have acted so well in the show!
That's all from me today but seriously let's do this for our fave Sanaya because she works really hard and I want to see her gain more succes post IPKKND. Ok hope you all have a wonderful week :)
Shegufta xx
p.s do leave your thoughts behind!

Even if that happens, if they say to the PH your ending on September 12 then the PH will wrap up the story in the coming weeks, so even if they TRPs soar (hypothetically) the plug will still have to be pulled unfortunately

Sony are acting like they get TRPs as high as 3 etc and so CC is low..their highest is 1 something so they shouldnt really be complaining much

Agree with bold, should be interesting to see how the next show goes...Sony need to take a good look at themselves and where they failed as a channel.

@TM unfortunately it doesn't matter how many fans in India tune in if they aren't part of the trp audience group and the worst thing for people out of India is that we pay extra for the channel but we have no real voice when it comes to numbers.

Sadly, as part of the international audience, we can't do much. And Sanaya's fans are mostly the youth, who catch up with her shows online, since they don't have time to watch TV. As for the TRP aunties, I have no idea how Diya Batti or SNS manage to bring in numbers, or even Yeh Rishta. I have seen a few episodes on and off, and frankly speaking, they're all stupid. There is so much drama over the tiniest things. I guess that's what the Indian audience wants-melodrama.

At the beginning i was very happy with Sony, for the promoting and the way that i thought they wouldn't be TRP hungry as such but i guess i was wrong

and yes as an international viewer i subscribed to this channel for Sanaya alone and the cost is expensive..no use of having Sony without Sanaya (for me)

and i guess theres not much to say or complain about now but yes putting this show against the TRP topper (how it is a TRP topper i have no idea) was a really BAD IDEA

Yep I have to pay to see Sony and CC is the only show on Sony I watch! It really disappoints me that the Indian audience prefers melodramatic saas-bahu dramas rather than shows with good content.

Hey, its better if we dont mention names.. But the genre that all those trp rockers represent is as such regressive and unrealistic.. Cant ever relate anything they do in any of these shows but CC was quite real..

Sony was gutsy enough to take up something like CC, it was totally swimming against the flow. Sanaya's audience's wishes, trp aunties neither was being catered to in this. They took up a concept to merge both. And in such experiments 2 things can happen either it turns out very successful or totally not. They faltered by delivering a half baked product with a pathetic ML to worsen things.

I would still say Sony tried n failed.

P.S. I'm not trying to defend them n am not even interested in them apart from CC, bt just felt they should be given their due..

I don't think it will make a difference even if unrealistic it is though, that TRPs shoot up. Chhan Chhan's fate has been decided. The entire time I watched this show, I saw more promos of other shows than Chhan Chhan. And now there are none!
Unfortunately, even though I pay a bundle and a half to subscribe to the Sony show, as an International audience, my vote does not count. I will be unsubscribing Sony once Chhan Chhan ends. I'm just not interested in anything that does not have Sanaya in it. Besides, I don't watch any other Indian programs or shows.
Notwithstanding all the snafus at the launch of the show and the subsequent few disastrous beginning episodes, in my opinion, Chhan Chhan is a progressive show. and I maintain that people in India, or at least those where TRPs are counted would rather watch something that is suppressive than progressive. They are just not of the mindset where intelligence and logic matter.

Totally agree. Chanchan is far, far better than the saas bahu shows which rake in the high trps.
Chanchan showed a modern , sensible girl who is well educated, beautiful and smart and who also has family values. In today's episode we had a nice dialogue mouthed by umaben 'salwaar kurta pehnne se badon ke liye ijjat kam nahi ho jaati'.
The message being delivered here is, one can have one's own identity, beliefs, have a modern outlook and yet be a good Daughter in law who can bind the family together thru her caring and sensible approach.
And also that one must move ahead with times and take change in the stride.
A very sensible show, good characters and characterisations, and ofcourse a stupendous cast in sanaya and supriya well supported by others, particularly anuj.
That such a nice show, one to which it is easy to relate to, is going off air so soon is indeed shocking. But that how the trp magic works.
But wish the show had not being pitted against the steady trp topper of 9 pm.
But must appreciate the makers for coming up with a fresh concept.
