According to Hindu mythology, Sati's father was against her marrying Shiv. she married him anyway. Once she came to visit her father but he did not let her return to her husband. When shiv came to take her back, he was insulted by his FIL.

Sati couldn't take this humiliation and in defiance jumped into fire and was killed. From this comes the ancient and awful practice of Sati. This happens in front of both the men.

At this point Shiv, known for his fearsome fury, caused destruction and swore that Sati would be reincarnated as his wife over and over again.

Of course, like all myths, there are several versions of this story, but this is the one I've heard.
Can't say what Ekta Mayya is going to do with it.

well Lord Shiv had twice married... first wife, named Sathi... she jumped into the fire of pooja her father were doing at his home after hearing him insulting her husband, Lord Shiv... her next incarcation is Parvathy.... daughter of Lord Himavan (Himalay) after so much hardships she could win his heart..

may be that is going to happen if and only if gauri is dead... but as the name gauri is given to the character opposite to shiv i think they may not kill her... pandits who told she will die will she surely dead, even for a seconds or for few minutes her heart must be stopped beating.. but i think she will not die like that... because after parvathi(gauri is her another name) there is none... so by this second birth shiv will totally fell for her... may be that is what is going to happen... then the actual small circles will come... pregnant, the revealation of ipshita story, leaving shiv, coming back... etc etc... don't ask me i am mad... this way i think i am 😆

i agree with your pov rose... 😊

yes shiv married twice and as you said his wife sathi sacrificed her life coz she could bear her husband's shiv insult..

then she came back as parvati (gauri)and as you said there was no one else after..

its been always shiv/gauri..this name is inseperable...

gauri will come back to life with a new karam and this time it will be shiv's love who will bring her back...

then the story can move on...ipshy's jealousy and nikhila's paying for her evil deeds..

shiv did marry twice but the same devi:once she was sati and then gauri or parvati.
but lord shiva didn't have any "extra marital relationship" 😆 like this shiv of 21st century has with ipshita.

ipshita has no position in hindu mythology 😆

but there is a saga behind the birth of kartick............their son...........who was miscarried from gauri's womb to sevem mothers who raised him up..hope that is not repeated 😕

Nope.. .the story is that Shiva married Dakshayini or Sati as she was called. King Daksha's daughter... and Lord Vishnu's younger sister...

Once when King Daksha was doing a great yagna, where all Gods and goddesses were invited, he had neglected to invite Lord shiva(as an intended insult because of some slight misunderstanding that had happened) and when Dakshayini got to know of that she was upset for her husband and raved and ranted against her father... Lord Shiva asked Dakshayini not to go to the Yagna... but she still disregarded his words and went and questioned her father... finally she saidd "in this yagna, that my husband was slighted... let it not be successfull". Saying this she jumped into the holy fire of the yagna, thereby ruining the yagna... That is the reason why the pratha or custom wherein a wife gives her life for her husband is called sati...
When lord shiva got to know that he was upset and he sent his ganas to ruin the yagna and to kill Daksha as well...
Lord Shiva had sat in Penance after this. there was a Demon who at that time had asked for a boon from Vishnu I think that he should get death only from the hands of Lord Shiva's son... and everybody knew that Lord Shiva would not get married. around that time Sati had taken birth as Parvathi, the daughter of king Parvatha... but Lord shiva was still in Penance... and his penance had to be broken... so Lord Kama (the god of love) was brought to use... that was when Shiva burnt opened his third eye and burnt Kama (The burning of an effigy symbolising Kama is still followed during the festival of Holi in some parts of the country). He married Parvathi and their son, Karthikeya was born who finally killed the asura or demon.

Phew... interesting story... isn't it?

Actually, Lord Shiva is supposed to have a second wife... they call Ganga as Shiva's wife in some parts of the country.
😉 But yes... you are right... Karthikeya was conceived and was left in a pond because he was so hot... and 6 Karthika women found him and he had 6 heads/forms so each of them brought up one part of him... that is the reason he is called Shanmukha... (6 faces).
