Ayaz's house catches fire

Ayaz Ahmed, who plays Raghu in Do Dil Ek Jaan, was in for a rude shock recently when he returned from a shoot to find his house gutted by fire.

A major portion of his flat in Oshiwara, Mumbai, was been reduced to ashes. Says the actor, "There was a short circuit in the house around 11.30 pm which led to the fire. My neighbours saw smoke billowing out from the flat, so they broke the door and splashed buckets of water which helped in control the flames. Neither me nor my brother Fazal were in the house when the accident took place, so nobody was injured. Also, my room was on the other end so it was spared. I guess it's the prayers of my fans which worked for me."

At present, Ayaz is living with his friend Fahad Ali, who plays KD in The Buddy Project.

Well, as they say, a friend in need is a friend indeed.
