as far as the story of andhak is concerned... it is quite similar to the story of all the asurs who have been killed by Shiv Parvati... all they do is to lust after Parvati...
When I read Shiv Puraan.. I hardly found any variation in the stories of Jalandhar and Andhak. except the way they came into being.
I might be wrong...
regarding Shakti stories being covered here, I agree with Nisha that the show being Mahadev one will have Mahadev in the centrestage... but there are enough legends to fill in the Puranic gap
Andhak was actually a
son of both Shiva & Parvati. Here, in this story, Parvati blindfolded Shiva w/ her hands, and as a result, he sweated, and from that sweat arose Andhak. Since Shiva was blindfolded, Andhak was born blind. The rest of the story is in that link - he was adapted out to Hiranyaksha, became his son, defeated Prahlad & Hiranyakashipu's other sons(?). Then he once spotted Parvati, who he failed to recognize as his mother, and that started his war against Shiva.
At the end, Andhak is - like Jalandhar in this serial - held on a trident for 1000 years b4 he apologizes. Both Mahadev & Parvati forgive him, and made him a Gana. A confusing aspect of this story is that he was made 'Ganadhees' or leader of the Ganas. Like we didn't have enough leaders of the Ganas already - first Nandi, then Ganesh and now Andhak 😆
On the Shakti stories, they could have done it by depicting Ma Durga/Mahakali as Mahadev's wife (like they did in the little they showed, w/ Sona playing those roles) and glossing over the Parashakti aspects of it. Unlike JJMD, they needn't have shown Ma Durga presiding over her Vibhuti court. But it was unnecessary to show things like Ma Durga confronting Mahishashur only to save Kartikeya, or Shumbha & Nishumbha reforming and getting out of her way. Incidentally, they had the opportunity to correct that during Jalandhar, but missed that opportunity as well.
