CHAPTER : 6 :
There was a knock on the door , Komal was shocked when she saw Dr Karan Malhotra standing at the entrance. "Please come in Doctor ... what brings u here?" , she asked. "Well Ma'm , I have some good news for Manyata ... is she around , can I speak to her?"
Komal led him into Manyata's bed-room, with a broad smile he greeted her. "Manyata , how would u like to be walking again in 6 months time ... or maybe even less time than that? " Manyata gave him a confused look and asked him to explain further. "Well , there's someone who has set up a trust ..."
"Is it UdayVeer Singh?" , Manyata interrupted. "Umm , who?" , the doctor told , making Manyata realise that he didn't know who she was referring to. "I'm sorry doctor , do continue", she apologised. "Yeah , we have a benefactor that has set up a kind of TRUST that would benefit 3 patients with spinal-cord injuries. He has given a substantial amount of money for the treatment and YOU are 1 of the lucky 3!" , he said excitedly.
"But doctor , why me? I mean there must be many more that's in worse condition that I am in , why not send them instead of me?"
"Because Manyata ... your condition was NOT a permanent one , it's just that your financial situation did not allow to get the proper treatment. U are lucky to get this opportunity ... I suggest u go for it. Now start packing ... "
"PACKING???" , she exclaimed ..."Why , where am I going?"
"Zurich!"
"Oh no , I can't go ... my Mom will be all alone!" Komal held Manyata's hand :"Your mother will be fine ... Niya is here & Neetu is here! Besides , I think this is the best thing that could've happened for us , we should thank our lucky stars and U MUST GO ... I WANT YOU TO GO!" Manyata held out her arms and her mother hugged her. "Can I take that as a YES?" , the doctor questioned. "YES" , mother and daughter yelled with a laughing tone.
Dr Malhotra was just about to leave , when Manyata asked : "Who is the benefactor ... can I meet him or her?"
"I'm sorry - that's not possible , HE would like to remain anonymous!"
"Could u ask him to meet me , it's a request", she pleaded.

Jai waited for what seemed like eternity for Uday's lips to touch hers , but it never happened. When she opened her eyes , she found him standing a foot away from her , sipping on his coffee ... and smirking in between sips.
"Uh , oh , I , ummm", she mumbled in confusion.
"What's the matter Jai ? Cat got your tongue? " , he put down his cup and stood really close to Jai ..."did u honestly think SOMETHING was going to happen between us?"
He ran a finger down her cheek : "U know Jai ... I always knew that GOODY-GOODY act u portray ... was just a PRETENCE! NO WIFE would, so casually ; tell her husband to remarry! NO WIFE would offer her husband help, in wooing another girl! NO WIFE would ..."
"Yes Uday - u are right!", Jai yelled out. "I am your lawfully wedded wife ... but you never EVER looked at me , the way u look when you only TALK about Manyata ... U hear her name , and your face glows. I wish U loved me even a fraction of how much u love her. I was shattered when I found out about her , ANY WIFE would be! I permitted you to remarry , but back of my mind ... I knew she wouldn't marry you , and THEN U will come back to me ; all heart-broken - and I will make everything right again. And guess what ... IT ALMOST HAPPENED!"
"Get out", Uday ordered and pointed out the door.
"WHAT!?"
"Get out of my house , I don't want u spreading your negativity here! Oh and 1 more thing ... even if I never get Manyata - NOTHING will ever happen between US!", he held her arm and pushed her out of the apartment, and banged the door on her face.
She marched to her car and sat in the drivers-seat : "U are going to pay for THAT insult , Manyata ... God help u!!!!!!!!" , she pressed with full force onto the accelerator and the car sped off.

The ringing of 2 cells simultaneously , alerted Uday. 1 sound was coming from his cell in his pocket , but the other? Jai's hand-bag was still kept on his couch and the ringing was coming from inside there. He opened the bag , but before he could get to her phone , the ringing stopped ... but his eyes fell on something - a vial of poison!
He held it up : "PERFECT!!!!" , he smiled with a somewhat evil glint in his eyes.

WRITER'S NOTE :
I know the chapter was short , but it was ALL that I wrote since the last time I updated.
I would just like to inform my readers , that this SS is TEMPORARILY DISCONTINUED!
My father is really ill , and I have to take him to hospital everyday for treatment.
I don't know when I'll be able to write , let alone post a full chapter!
I hope that you all understand my predicament😔.
