Me again! This is turning out to be a bit of a protracted process. I was not aware of this, but Blogger evidently limits readership to 99 readers; hence, the reason some of the invitations have not gone through. So, I guess this means the Blog is now officially full. However, there are about 40+ invitations that are yet to be accepted. The ones I sent out yesterday, I will be retracting by tomorrow if not accepted (or alternatively, if Blogger decides that the invite has expired - I haven't quite figured out the rule on that), so that I can actually send the invite to someone who will be more responsive. It goes without saying (given this newly discovered reader limit) that silent readers will have to drop off the list to make room for un-silent ones (to be fair).

Kaashi… of course she chose her the element in her name as the witness. Not the all-consuming fire but the water than ensures prosperity. She gave him that thread, left for him her soul and then left. That is the ultimate sacrifice. She wanted to protect the man she loved, even if that meant giving up what defined her. Now her name makes even more sense.

I understand her actions, though I wish I didn't. Because every time I think of Arnav's wretched state, I just want to shake her up and drag her back to him. How are these two (star-crossd' ?) lovers to come together now? I cannot think of the possibility that they won't, that would almost be like trying to go against the force of nature. All has happened for a reason, and I will wait for you to tell me that.

As usual, your words have that power to suck me into the world of these people, feeling their joy and their pain like it were my own. Stunning.

Hello Devi. It was good to read that you and your little tot are doing fine now. And reading KH again, ah, good old times. :)

I don't really have much to say. I sort of expected Kashi to bolt, but the order in which the events have unfolded has thrown everything into a toss. They are in a sense truly married, and yet they are not. When I read the whole thing, I realised they had had a sort of gandharva marriage ceremony, again a nod to Devaki and her gandharva lover and their tragic love story. The foreshadows in KH have always been eerie, yet you never know the twists they come with. The rain-marriage and its subsequent consummation was so exceptionally moving, and I'm so glad you gave us both Kashi and Arnav's pov on it. Beautifully written.

I will be honest, I have never had much empathy for superstitious people. I find it even more difficult when their beliefs hurt someone else who loves them. I am angry at what I (and probably Arnav) consider to be Kashis's irrational fears, yet the 60 chapters of beautiful character-building you have done before this somewhat help me to understand her. She leaves him because she loves him, as simple as that. She might no longer live there, but KH and the past of its women, right down to her sister Pallavi, never seem to leave her. Yet she loves the house and all its ghosts too. This FF is full of complicated, painful and perversely fulfilling relationships. No wonder so many of us here are addicted.

I still cannot take a stab at what happens next. I wish this were a book and I could turn the pages at will. *hint, hint*😉
