Qubool Hai – What is love?
Qubool Hai gives you many shades of love and yet it makes you wonder what is love? Is love what Rashid Ahmed Khan (Vaquar Shaikh) feels for Dilshad Ahmed Khan (Shalini Kapoor)? Or is love what Shireen Ahmed Khan (Shabnam Sayed) feels for Rashid? If Rashid loved Dilshad, why did he get involved with another woman? And once Shireen came to know that Rashid was married, why did her love become so selfish to bind him to her rather than sacrifice? Hard to tell. Once has to perhaps go through the circumstance to understand how one reacted and why.
Now, we have Humeira Siddiqui (Ketki Kadam) who is in love with Ayaan Ahmed Khan (Vikrant Massey) but one rejection from him and she ran away (of course, we know that it is all Razia Begum instigating), however, what love is this, which will leave the one you love because he does not love you back. Humeira though instinctively sought refuge with Ayaan when in trouble. Is that what love is? Trust, even when you think the other person is unknown entity, but your heart somewhere knows, that is the person who is perhaps your soulmate?
The new love birds we find in the show are Najma Ahmed Khan (Nehalaxmi Iyer) and Imraan (Vikram Singh Chauhan). Post drama where Nikhat Ahmed Khan (Archana Taide), who raised her voice against being abused by her to be mother-in-law Haseena Bi (Nishi Singh), the wedding that has always been like a see-saw between happening and not-happening from start of the show, just might not happen. Does Imraan love Najma to the level to want to fight for her or is Najma not strong enough to voice her choice to her family? Is love strong enough to give the strength to these lovers or is it destined to doom? Of course, one wonders, where Tanveer (Amrapali Gupta) fits in all this? But then we are talking about what is love and Tanveer only seeks money.
Without digressing, one would tell, love is what Asad Ahmed Khan (Karan Singh Grover) and Zoya Farooqui (Surbhi Jyoti) feel for each other. And that is one type of love. Pure and yes not simple. It is as complicated as it gets. But yes, for a man who can keep control on himself despite his attraction to the lady and ask her for one wish, to watch her sleep all night before their wedding is a love that goes beyond the realm of physical. And how are they going to keep this control? Well, romantic as these two are, he gazes at her sleeping on a video call.
However, the question remains, What is love? Is the show giving you a glimpse of what love is or could be and do you hope for a love like any of them or have a love that is like Asad and Zoya's in your life?
What is love according to you? To attain the one you love, to sacrifice for the love, to pine in love rather than spend life with the one you love or is there no definition that binds a feeling that has the capability to take you to heights never reached and depths never fathomed at one and the same time?
