Obviously bianca, being an Indian girl we are all brought up with culture and traditions despite where we are .. india malaysia or UK. But tradition has nothing to do with attitude or thinking of the person. As for Raji its not tradition brought up that putting fear on her. If she had wanted, she long could have gone back and tried to talk to her father and persuade him. Father though with so much attitude on him, i have notice in few scenes where he had indirectly told Raji he would never force her to do something she is against it. Why even when he was in ICU, he could sense his daughter does not like it thus he did not encourage the marriage there at that time.
What Raji should have done is trying to talk to her father about this and if its not accepted then to tell him that she has made up her mind whom would be a good life partner for her and if father is against it then to never bug her about marriage. And she could have told Karthik that she loves him but besides this love and care she is unable to promise anything beyond it. At least it that way it will give Karthik an opportunity to either choose to wait for her or to try to help to solve this issue or to walk away. Instead of keeping in and making him go crazy as his unable to decide what without a proper confirmation from Raji.
I can no longer see Raji being under the said tag "tradition girl or tradition upbringing" as right now all i can see on her is she being selfish.
