Btw I have a concept in mind for arakshi and I wanted to know will U be able to write a ff or ss on it? I can't write to save my life... And the concept is also not that great,,, Infact it's quite common but still wished u could pen something down for it... Coz I love ur expressions and ur understanding of every character ... If u can't then please say no... I will feel really bad if u did it just for the sake of it, or coz u felt guilty...

From the first part it self it is evident that the heroine is leading a mysterious life and definitely there are some emotions behind every mystery... and more the intensity of emotions, deeper the mystery

So here it goes...

Chapter 2:

The train halted at a big junction and it was almost evening now……

I finished my first sketch by then….I was shocked, stunned and what not by my own art…….I had ended up sketching her pretty eyes which gazed at me now from the sketch……Well what was happening to me? Why was I longing for a gaze from her? And my longing was evident from my own sketch of her lovely deep eyes!

He had to get a grip on his mind big time….no way he could drift away to the charms of a stranger girl and her pretty eyes which seemed to cast a spell on him…..To make it worse for him, she appeared least bothered about him….

Ouch..his male ego hurt as he thought about it….So many hours passed but she hadn't passed a glance at him ….not even once! How was it possible?

So long, he had heads turning to his side from every possible angle and girls weaving hopes for a glance and a smile from him…not once had he relented to any other girl before and here was one girl who was least bothered by his presence….It seemed as if she hadn't even noticed that he was seated opposite to her….What was with this girl which attracted him so much to her??….

He couldn't deny that there was something special in her which drew his gaze back to her every time he tried to ignore her and looked away to the sights outside the window...

He needed a break from this tiring ordeal!

He got up from his seat to stretch his legs and arms…He was hungry too…..so he stepped out of the train to grab something to eat and a bottle of water…..

She on the other hand pulled out a packet from the side zip of her bag……tearing it open, she started eating the vegetable grilled sandwich that she had bought from Fresh loaf on the way to the station!

He bought something from the limited choices and rushed back to the train….As he was about to get in, he felt a strong urge to see the reservation booking chart stuck to the left side of the compartment's door….he didn't know why but he wished to know her name…..He smacked himself and stepped in without giving in to his wish…but even then he couldn't ignore his urge…someone chirped inside his ears…"ek naam jaan ne mein kya problem hai?"

Saying that, he leaned to that side and his eyes trailed down the chart…..He stopped at his name "Arjun Rawte"

And his eyes travelled down to the next name beneath his…..there was no surname…just a sweet first name! He repeated it a few times within his mind…a short cute name…..something clicked and it got registered in his mind…..

He felt that he would never forget that name ever in his life…..even if he never saw her again after this train journey, those beautiful eyes and her name would forever be etched in his memory!

He smiled at his own crazy thoughts and then went back to his seat…

By then Miss beautiful eyes uff Miss Indifference had stretched out her legs on the seat and was listening to music on her I pod…..her eyes were closed and her slender fingers were slowly tapping her lap perhaps to the beats of the song she was hearing….

He slumped back to his original position without making any major sound to avoid disturbing her!

For the first time, his eyes darted to check out a girl…..she wore a lilac kurti and dark blue jeans…..she looked simple and elegant….

A small white stone adorned her beautiful ears….a small bindi between her eyebrows added to her traditional beauty….

Her long hair was loosely knotted in the middle and she had casually pulled it to the front!

Light pink nail paint adorned her finger nails and also her cute toe nails…..her delicate golden anklets were visible partly adding beauty to her creamy white feet!

At times, by the impulse of the rhythm, she tapped her foot as well causing a cute pleasing sound of the small bells in her anklets! But she stopped each time when she got conscious of it!

He was a cop with brilliant observation skills…It was showing its effect here too…..He could sense that she was a master of the rhythm…..either a dancer or a singer! He was sure!

What was happening to him? Why was he so keenly analyzing and observing her? Was he already smitten by her? No way! He scolded himself for even thinking that!

Time flew by…….

He reined his wandering thoughts and opened his dinner packet…..He quickly finished it and gulped in some water….His berth was the top one diagonally opposite to her lower berth….

The other 2 berths were vacant…..but he didn't choose to sleep on the lower one just by her side…..it would turn a sleepless night if he did that…..So he opted to take his own berth….

She appeared to have drifted into sleep…..and the lights were still on and her eyes crunched a bit as if irritated by the penetrating lights….He decided not to torment those pretty eyes further….He switched off the lights and retired to his berth!

Many other bays were in the dark by now and people were fast asleep…..

He tossed in his berth to either side trying best not to look at her…..perhaps her attitude added to his curiosity about her!

Despite his efforts, Arjun turned to the right side and looked down and saw her pulling up the blanket over her after switching off the i-pod….so in essence she was just pretending sleep and waiting for him to get up from there….

He couldn't help a grin at her act….

He turned to the opposite side just to get her out of his mind…..He closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep……

Except for the rattling of the train, it was silence everywhere…..he didn't know how he drifted to sleep or how many hours passed….

A sudden jerk shook him out of his sleep…..He opened the small reading lamp at the side to check the time..it was going to be 12…

The next instant by impulse, his eyes darted below….to the lower berth where miss indifference slept…..

To his shock, the berth was empty….he rubbed his eyes once to check if it was a dream or real…..it was real….she was missing….the blanket lay to the end of the berth….her i-pod and book lay on the middle table…So she hadn't got down anywhere in the middle…..

He muttered to himself "itni raat ko akele kahaan gayi hogi? [A sense of security and protectiveness grew in him…he himself reasoned] "shaayad restroom"

He decided to remain awake till she comes back…..but she didn't return even after 10 mins……

He decided to get down and check where she was….anyways he knew he couldn't sleep peacefully till he finds her safe!

He climbed down the berth and walked to the restroom which was closer to their bay….

Both the toilets were empty….She wasn't anywhere there…..He walked to the opposite side….

As he reached, he stopped seeing her near the open door..….

He thought to himself, "Is she crazy?"

For a moment, he felt that she was going to jump out……but then realized that she was on a call…..a few words here and there fell in his ears….."nahi…harmless hai….sirf mujhe gurtha rehtha hai….I wonder what interests him so much"

He could sense that she was talking about him…..he felt angry with himself…a girl was accusing him! And why won't she? He had really been gazing at her shamelessly at times!

Oh wait, that brought another realization to him….This only meant that she was also noticing him like he did! She wasn't indifferent to his presence….she was just pretending indifference…..

Even though her complaining about him hurt his ego, this realization gave him a smile!

She added as if answering the question from the other end…."I have a pepper spray…don't worry!"

He felt real bad now for having created such a bad impression of himself before her…..he didn't know why he was bothered about what she thought of him but yes, it hurt his self esteem!

He decided not to bother her further and was just about to turn around when he saw the strong wind making the door close….she was standing casually and also a bit carelessly…..She didn't seem to have noticed the door!

The sudden slamming of the door could make her lose balance…..He didn't think any further….he sprinted to her side, clutched her elbow and swirled her inside to himself….

She lost her balance and fell into his arms…..

Angry words just left her lips realizing what he did, "WHAT THE HELL!"

And the door just missed her by a narrow gap and shut close with a bang……

Her words ceased….She fluttered her eyelids and shut it tightly by the impact of the bang…..

He ignored her anger……His left hand protectively held her by her waist and the other hand gripped her hand…..His eyes were fixed on her innocent pretty face…..but her eyes remained close!
