a doubt frm the episode

In some old episode rishi vishrava xplains about the working of the mani tht makes ravan ten headed.................can anyone tell wht was the principle

ya sure i still got that episode..
it says when the sun rays falls on some object, then 3-dimensional rays pass through it, namely hyperbole, reflex action and absorption. The image reflection is seen in stage of hyperbole. The 9 special beads in the chain are made as such that there is no hyperbole or absorption at its base so that reflexes can be seen 100%. Several edges have been carved on the beads and linked together in a manner so that there is 3-dimensions in these beads. So when the light passing through these beads fall on the face, a mirror image of 9 other faces can be seen.
I hope this is clear enough to understand.. i just tried writing with the help of the subtitles..
