Today I am feeling a little less lazy than usual, 😆so I thought of writing about something that has been bothering me since quite some time. 😛
So, I couldn't help but notice and feel frustrated about the confusion that prevails in this forum regarding who actually is the real psychopath and an abusive person in the show! So, I am writing this post just to get it out of my system!
Well to begin with let's just get the "actual" and the "only" definition of a psychopath!
Now let me first state the definition of a psychopath which goes something like this, "A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse." Extracted from Free Online Dictionary.
Now let's see who fits the criteria, shall we!
- RK used to be a completely ruthless and egoistic man, we all know that! He did the 4-phere wedding, numerous insults to Madhu and her family, played prem game and even forced Madhu to come to him! This all does define the actions of a highly insensitive man but not of a psychopath.
If he were a psychopath he wouldn't have felt any kind of remorse after or while doing all this! He wouldn't have repented, apologized time and again, knelt in front of the one who he wronged and confessed his crimes and requested for a second chance publicly. If he was a psychopath he would have never tried his level best to be a better person everyday. He would have never redeemed himself by loving Madhu genuinely everyday and restoring her honor in front of the world. So, he might have been very ruthless, no doubts, but he was never a psychopath because psychopaths lack the tendency to feel any kind of remorse, and so trying to get redemption is just out of the question. Plus, he would have not felt so shaken after accidentally killing Sultan in self-defense and definitely, he would have not surrendered.
- Now, Sultan was introduced as an international don and I can never forget his entry, no not because of the gravity-defying stunt or anything superficial and artificial, I can't forget his entry because the entry kind of reminded me of the entry of someone who was shown as a pure psychopath in the show earlier. Yes, I am talking about Balraj Singh Chaudhry. Now, remember how BSC used to practice his aims senselessly on his own child? Sultan just went a step ahead and put his handicapped son putting in even more grave danger from all sides by using him as a bait in his senseless enemy hunt. I believe people who see symbolism in everything must have absorbed the subtle comparison of the two psychopaths shown by the CVs. Anyhow, my opinion for him was established then that he is a psychopath but he only strengthened my opinion by showing no such remorse over the crimes he commit after this incident.
Killing people, twisting necks without even changing expressions (no pun intended) and showing no remorse even later is a clear sign of being a psychopath. Just because the people (they maybe criminals but that still doesn't make it any right) he killed and subsequently, the families he ruined were not included in the main cast, it does not change the fact that he did crimes that are punishable by death but still managed to be all calm about it. He did all this while claiming to have a golden heart! Never did I see him crying for forgiveness or trying to redeem himself or surrendering for his crimes. In fact, he said he spent half of his life running from prison. Even now also, I don't have to state what he is doing without showing any kind of remorse.
I think it's pretty clear for everyone to see who the psychopath is in the show, but still I will understand if someone doesn't want to see the facts.
P.S. Please don't use any kind of offensive language in your comments as per the IF rules, no matter how much the character maybe worthy of it.
