Gorky Max – Letter From A Student To Wish You Happy Birthday
A student of Gorky Max has written this letter for him and we have been requested to put it up as a Birthday wishes post. We were skeptical about this, as the letter was addressed to "Dronacharya". But here it is.
Respected Dronacharyaji,
I came to know that it was your Happy Birthday. My mother told me to wish one's teacher with respect and write a letter. I am still wondering why? Why can't I just go and sing Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday dear Dronaji, Happy Birthday to you?
The reason I want to do that is that every year on my Birthday, Mamma would tell me to take chocolates for everyone in School and give not just one but two chocolates, if someone asks from me, that is. And I used to nod and be happy that I would be wished by my whole (spreading the arms wide here) class. So I also want chocolates, lots of them (two are not enough) when I sing for my teacher. *sulk*
But, Mamma has said, so I am writing you a letter.
Wish you a very very Happy Birthday and wish you have many many happy returns of the day (Have seen my Papa say this to his friends and have thought, what returns will come on Birthday for I had gotten gifts and given return gifts so was I to get something in return after that too? Have been waiting for one every Birthday and that has never happened).
New pinch. Drona, got a new dress, Drona got a new dress. I don't know, but I get one, so you must have got a new dress for your birthday. Yoo! Hoo!
