I am not sure this topic was already discussed.
I try to watch "ek ghat banaunga" whenever I can
I dont understand poonam's attitude or education.
when a person talks respectfully, they talk respectfuly to every one.
but this poonam calls herself "hum" and her husband "tum"
call herself "main" or call him "aap"
what is this education that she received.
very hard to like her expressionless action.
please this is a matter of person opinion. it can change anytime based on story change or acting change.
agree or disagree respectfully.

Ur q is understandable...I felt the same for the first time. But come to think about a girl who considers a boy as a friend but all of a sudden finds him responsible for all twists n turns in her life. Yes of course without a logical reason she holds Aakash responsible for the humiliation her parents were put thru . Her attitude wud not s eek something unusual...her character has always been f a protective n responsible daughter. To fit into the shoes of Aakash's wife wud take time
A Gud topic for discussion...shud make the thread active😊

I am glad that somebody noticed it.
it is a major flaw in the dialogues written.
because unless you are a king or queen in good old days, you will not call some one tum and call yourself hum.
see Qyamat se Qyamat thak movie.
Juhi chawla calls herself hum and Amir khan aap.
That is consistent.

Hello,
You have raised a reasonable point. To the first part of your question, why Poonam calls herself "hum", it is the geography that is to be blamed😊. She is from Lucknow, and we in Lucknow refer to ourselves as "hum". It is the done thing...has been so for ages, but I admit, quite difficult to understand for non-Lucknowites.
As to why she calls Akash "tum", I can only guess that she thinks him to be beneath her, inferior to her standing and class, and wants to drive home that point. But it is very jarring, and I cringe everytime I hear her refer to him in that manner, moreso because Poonam comes from a very poilite family, where even her parents talk to her with "beta" and "aap". Tum is hardly ever used in her family. I suppose the writers want to convey her anger towards Akaash, in the manner she speaks to him, but it is so very out of out of place.
