Cadet Ali and his Father
"Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance."
- Ruth E. Renkel
Among all the father character in all Harshad's shows... Cadet Ali's father was the one with the humblest background...as he strived to make the ends meet being a subedaar in the Indian Army himself.
He may have not been able to give his son a lavish upbringing, but he sure had imparted the best of all- the principles that made Ali- Cadet Ali Baig.
Ali's righteousness and helping nature along with being aware of his responsibilities as a son...always earned him brownie point as we sat enjoying the 'Usools' of the 'Usool Bhai'... Ever thought where the Usools came from?...No point for guessing... Those principles were handed down to him with care by his father.
They too had their shares of disappointments...Nothing hurt the son so much as seeing the tears in the fathers eyes, as the father thought his hopes of seeing his son achieve greater heights were dwindling as once he had strayed beyond his principles... And so he vouched never to stray again.
The son and father were so in tune with each other that the father's dream was the sons dream...and Ali would do everything that it takes to make it come true... And we did see him achieve his goal and that day the heart that puffed with pride and love the most, was that of his father's.

Prem and his Father
"Dad, you're someone to look up to no matter how tall I've grown."
- Anonymous
A son who treats his father as God and father who dotes on his son. A unique father son relationship that drew many eyes. Here was a son who looked up to his father for every guidance, and a father who trusted him blindfolded. Lalit never failed to make it known that he had a gem for a son, and Prem never questioned his father's decisions for him. So much so that the son agreed right away when he was told he had to marry a girl he never knew...never saw...just because his father had given a word to his friend long back... His father words meant a world to him... There stood the strength of their relation.
And then loved walked in and the pillar of strength was shaken... though he had agreed to forsake his love for his father he couldn't see wrong being met to his love...and the father couldn't see that the son had gone back on his words...and we were left with an aching heart to see this father son duo drift apart... with time the truth unveiled only to make good the differences and the wounds were healed.
As time progressed so did the father son relation... making it stronger... even when fate struck his son with severe blows...the father stood there... the times his son was wrong, he let his son know about it... and the times when the son was trying hard to do good his wrongs, he provided his silent support... Always being there for his little boy.
The father never gave up on his son as the son never gave up on his father.
Onu and his Father
Some fathers and sons don't get along that well when they're younger,
because they can't find a way to reach each other, ...
A father loves you dearly but you don't see it,
and so you're always trying to please your father,
But your father doesn't let you know how he feels,
which is, you don't have to please him because he already loves you."
- Braylon Edwards
This is so true of the relation that Onu and his father shared. Behind the garb of a strict no nonsense father was also a father who wanted the best for his son.. so much so that he would go any lengths to ensure his son wouldn't be associated with anything that may result in his son's failure or downfall later. And behind the garb of a naughty, irresponsible son as his father thought him to be, was a son who knew his duties well and who longed some real father son moments. The tug of war between the two different garbs led to their relation turning sour as Shekar sent Onu away.
The resentment would only grow in time, as Onu stepped into his youth and went on to make decisions for himself, irking his father. They both in their hearts knew they were doing the right thing... the difference was their perspective about "right".The tiff that resulted out between them made them go separate ways... making them face each other as competitors...and the other negative forces didn't help much but rather fueled the flames. But fate intervened and in matter of few moments there stood a son winning over his father ...But for once the father was happy at loosing... glad that his son had created a niche for himself... the father had lost the business deal but had won his son back.
And then onwards we saw a father son duo who worked hand in hand and talked heart to heart. What followed was an unending bond between the two... a bond which they knew was there from long ago... just that they needed time and circumstances to let them realize it. ..and express it.
Mohan and his Father
"When a father gives to his son, both laugh; when a son gives to his father, both cry."
- Jewish Proverb
One of the most understanding and balanced fathers was gifted to our very own Mohan... Though most of the time the father was always over shadowed by the mother... this father's love and concern for his son ran deep.
And it showed when he sided with his wife in sending his son for studies abroad against his Baapji's wishes and rules... the mother may have initiated the thought but the father executed it...Going against your own father for the sake of your own son is the most difficult decision one has to make...A man can only be a good father if he is a good son...for Bhanu loved his father and his son equally.. but he knew when to side whom.
Being a constant peacemaker between his father and his son... he was always at the receiving end both the ways... but peace he did bring.
Times when he felt his son was straying off the ethical path, this father never took on to discouraging his son, rather he always advised his son to be grounded even when aiming for the stars, wishing him success from the bottom of his warm heart.
Believing in doing thing the right way... he through his words time and again showed him the right way... reprimanded him at the wrong doings... be it related to his son's professional life or the personal one with at the same time not being too intruding... Always wanting the best for his son at heart... No wonder we saw Mohan giving his best at setting thing right... making his father proud.
Raghav and his Father
"To be in your children's memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today."
- Barbara Johnson
One of the most rare father son relationship which was beautifully portrayed ... As the quote says...Raghav's father lingers in his memories as an epitome of strength... We have seen it in the way he first said his name "Raghavendra Pratap Singh."... We saw a father whom we never got to see in the show... technically speaking we never saw him not even a picture denoting the father and yet we could picturise him...We saw this father through the eyes of his son...We connected to this father as the son walked down the memory lane to reminisce and live one of th the many beautiful teaching of his father- the true essence of marriage, 'that each better half is an equal partner'. A teaching that stuck by him and he treated his better half the same way as his father had treated his mother. The legacy of this father, lives on within his son.
