He took the blame of Yash on him ( What relaitionship was that?)
He freed Kumari from a marriage ( What relationship was that?)
At the end of the day, everybody thinks only for themselves, Kumud forgot all these and onl remembered the one phone call. I will not even consider the first letter, as it does not count. Nobody can force someone to marry a girl no matter what the girl's dream was.
I do agree on a count with you here. Kumud is behaving out of emotion and not by thinking her thoughts through. One must give it to her because she tried really hard to make Saras believe in life and love, she told him innumberable times over that phone call that she loves him and she would be with him through all this. He was the one who could not "nibhao" a relationship after so many countless promises to the girl.
I do think that Saraswati is a touchy topic for Saras. However, he is so traumatized by her picture of suicide to finding out her reasons for the same and a bruised childhood. He has had only one person love him and that is his mother, and that is all he remembers. If his father would have been there for him ,instead of being such a selfish husband, Saras would have grown up thinking a different way about his mom. I also feel that Saraswati was very very harsh in committing suicide in front of her child. Also, knowing that her father was in love with Gumaan, telling Saras to stick to his father was also super unthoughtful of her. She should have instead told Dugbaa to stick it with Saras and told Lakshminandan to feature nowhere in his life. She instead did the stupidest thing being weak and selfish at the same time by drowning in front of a child ( did she not think how this was going to be for her 8 year old?) and by making him promise to stick it out with a father who could never be one. Saras has only clutched on to this, and has had no one to tell him otherwise.
Kumud does not know the background story. All she knows is Saraswati was a great woman, and Lakshminandan married gumaan after her death. She has also only seen the good side to LN...and still does not know what exactly transpired that night. So she is bound to tell Saras somethong on those lines as she knows it will pinch him the most.
what he did for Kumud like saving her dad and Yash, was out of his humane nature and an innate responsibility towards his kaka's family. he was not in a relationship with her that time. It was more about kaka and mai and others, and somewhere Kumud.
But after being in a relationship with her, after promising countless times that he will not leave her and will always be there for her, in one phone call he ended everything, without even the decency once again to go to her face to face and tell her this. Hence Kumud's outrage and her thinking that Saras is incapable of nibhaoing any relationship is totally understandable. She is not in a place to try and think of why he did this. He did not explain when he had the chance. Now it is too late and too much for Kumud to be expected to simply understand.
As for her situation, she has caused this mess called Pramad. It was her deep anguish and pain which also subsequently turned into anger and pride that led her into this stupid hasty decision of marrying Pramad. It was silly and very unthoughful of the parents too. With a trauma liek this, she needed time and not a marriage. Her ego did not let her think through and her parent's fear of society did not let them. The mess is hers to bear but Saras is going to help her out of it, as prayashchit just like Kumud helped him out of his loneliness like a silent shadow. It's his turn now.
