-Chapter 5-

Khushi got up early and went down for breakfast though her Aunt had told her not to move out of bed because of the high-fever that she was having from the past days, but would she listen to anyone? She hugged her Dad and placed a kiss on her Bua's cheek to pacify her glares and took her seat.

"Erm.. Mummy," that what she calls her aunt as she use to think that Aarti is her Mom until she got married and went away and when Khushi actually met her mother, "I told you na I'll be going to my friend's house in evening." Khushi reminded Aarti, and she simply nodded. And Khushi turned to face her Dad.

"Dad I wanted to ask you something" She asked playing with the spoon in her hand.

"What is it Beta?" her Dad asked placing the coffee mug back on it place and facing her with affection.

"Can I go to Mom's Place at the same time as returning?" she asked him with a very hopeful face knowing he won't stop her but still..

"If you want to.. " he said and Sighed trying to change the conversation.

later that evening, Khushi was about to ring the bell of the house but before she could, the door opened and a Smiling Arnav stood at the entrance.

"Hi Khushi!"

"Hi.. Arnav."

He led her in and that's when Arnav's mom came. Khushi folded her arms and greeted her saying a very sweet 'Namaste Aunty' and Asha heartedly replied her.

"If you're done can we work?" Arnav said rolling his eyes at the scene in front of him.

Asha raised an eyebrow and Khushi gave him an awkward smile and elbowed him.

"Yeah.. Sure!" she said and he led her to his room.

As they entered Khushi asked him, "Arnav, It's YOUR room?" and he shuddered simply and both went in. she had imagined his to be totally boyish type but this was, something.. Uum This looked good. Much better! On one wall Pictures of his hang with his family and some kids of his age, Must be his Friends! she supposed. And Other side seemed to be that He was much into Singing! And Yea, not to leave out.. Sports.

"Khushi!" He called out as he switched on his laptop.

"Hm..What are we going to do?" She asked crossing her hands turning towards him.

"Not we! YOU." He said pointing at her. And she gave him a questioning look.

"Why so?" She raised an eyebrow and he sighed, "don't tell me you were too lost to notice this plaster on my hand" She gasped seeing his hand plastered..

"Does that hurt?" Khushi asked concerned and he smiled, "Oh, No.. Not much it's just a slight fracture would be Okay in so much! Chill. I'll give you a Chocolate if you'll do good work!" He said winking at her and she sticks her tongue out at him in annoyance.

"Laad Governer!"

"Not again!"

"Arnav.. why isn't your hand hanging up? Uum.. Like other's fractured hands do!" Khushi said thoughtfully and he replied annoyed, "Because thankfully i didn't broke my arm though its a slight fracture on my palm! Now can we please wo-" and got cut off by Khushi.

"You know you would have looked so freakish funny!" Khushi said excitedly and heard Arnav mumbling, "What The!"

Arnav moved the laptop towards her and she took it while, he went to grab books. Hearing Khushi he came back.

"Isn't this me?" Khushi said pointing towards the Laptop Screen; the wallpaper was Khushi's Pic on the Halloween day. He simply shuddered and she again spoke, "My, Pic.. Why?"

He didn't know what to say, so coldly replied, "My Wish!" and she shut up seeing his serious self.

Arnav explained khushi all the work and both were much ready to do it... Khushi started Google-ing whereas Arnav sat munching, on snacks.

"Arnav.. "

"what?"

"Why did they die leaving their stories behind? Can't they take it with themselves too?" Khushi asked staring at the screen by narrowed eyes.

"Exactly what I'm thinking"

"You know what I'll send you to them if you didn't start helping me!" She glared at him and he gulped, grabbing the book, near him.

gathering Soon Khushi and Arnav were done with much of Information that they had to collect. He would tease her and she would hit him, she would, irritate him and He would shoot glares at her but none of them can deny that they were enjoying each-other's gathering a lot.

Khushi was hovering around his room while Arnav was immersed in the remaining work and suddenly out of blue she asked, him, "LG do you have a marker? A permanent one?"

"Yeah! There.." he pointed towards the shelf.

"Okay!" She happily fished out the marker and came to him. He looked up at her with a confused face and she gave him a mischievous smile and that was it,

"Can I Please please please Please-" She started pleading blinking her big doe eyes at him. And He cut her off in middle.

"No way! I'll not let you do something on the plaster!" He said moving back quickly.

"Pleeash?." Khushi said pulling Arnav away from snacks.

"What the.. Kay! Fine.. but nothing foolish" he told her and she grabbed his plastered hand and started her art and in next few minutes she exclaimed, "Done"

What she wrote made Arnav smile but Confused at the same time, with smiles and a cute heart.

"Rubble and TinTin- Friends forever"

"Who are Rubble and Tintin?" Arnav asked her while she continued milling brightly at her work and answered, "You said that I remind you of a cartoon name TinTin right?" he nodded, and she continued, "And I heared your Mom calling you, Rubble & i'll call you the same at times when you'll behave nicely just like now you left me write on your hand!" she said gathering the sheets which were out of printer and he smiled mentally thanking his Mom for not calling him, 'Chote' atleast in front of her.

"You mean, you the and me friends forever?" Arnav asked with a raised eyebrow..

"Obviously!"

"Ah, I know I'm so awesome that everyone wants to remain my friend forever!" he winked at her.

"Stop dreaming! But you're right! You're nice.. at least not like Shayam, Dhruv, Sheetal and-" Arnav cut her in middle and said, "Aman?"

"No! He is really a good friend.. i just didn't like his childish antics! You know he uses to irritate me.. An every joke he'll go to teacher and complain and Would joke unlimitedly a and when you'll joke with him he would do the same complain to teacher or make a face, Urgh! As if he is in kindergarten. but thank God he is changed. and Now we just tease each other he is-" Arnav stopped Chuckling and completed her sentence, "He is the Best!" and she nodded.

"Khushi Anjali won't forgive you for saying bad about Shayam!" Arnav said in a warning tone and in reply she gave him a confused look.

"After all he was her boyfriend.. sanki!"

"Was!"

"whatever! but she deserves him." he said with a small laugh while Khushi rolled the papers in her hand and hit him on his head with that.

Both of them started their work again and finally after hours they were over and done with the work. and Much satisfied too but Not only that they admired the perfection they wanted after-all they had a brilliant coordination, The thing amazed them both was, they felt much comfortable with each other and had no issue at all.

Khushi was again standing in front of his Photos and Arnav came and stood beside her. Suddenly Arnav help her hand and Took her with whispering, "I've to show you something"

He led her to the backyard of his house and it was amazing! A garden filled with flowers.. A, Beautiful sight to watch. She went ahead touching the flowers and the enchanting smell. Her smile was so dazzling that even her eyes twinkled.

"Wow!" all that came out of her mouth and he nodded and said, "Its Mom's."

"She seems to be very much fond of nature." she complimented.

"Hm.. She loves plants and gardening." As they both sat down on the stairs.

"You know my favorite colour is Green and Thats because I love gardens and places where is greenery and what about you?"

"Red. i love that colour!"

After few minutes of silence Khushi spoke, "Arnav your Mom loves You Nah?" she asked looking at him and it confused him though he smiled and replied.

"Everyone's mom does" he said and stood up and she shook her head, "No! You're lucky!" and with that she went towards the roses.

"You know you can take as many flowers as you want, Mom won't mind!" he smiled at her as he gave her a lily.

"No.. I don't like picking flowers. They are living things.. You never know what hurts." She smiled and took the lily from him.

While they chatted for a long time, discussing almost everything about school, arguing, agreeing and most of all, teasing each other while Khushi was munching on Chocolates that were being offered to her now every now and then by Arnav's mom and him. Out of nowhere both started arguing and chasing each other. Asha told Khushi she looked pretty and Arnav messed up her hair and as always Arnav had to run for his life! Khushi forgot, about the drink in her hand and straighten her hand towards him. Arnav Chuckled at her expressions which showed she was shell shocked and then it hit him.. The Project! He tilted his head a little backwards and there it lay, their hard work of hours, was drenched in cold drink.

Both looked at each other astonished. Khushi unintentionally took a step forward just to strangle him and he swallowed, and the next was most unexpected thing, Khushi slipped because, of the same cold drink and Arnav and Khushi directly landed on his bed, with her on top of him.

Khushi had her eyes at everything going wrong while Arnav had a smile which was nowhere leaving his face. They quickly straighten up themselves and muttered, "Shits" & "damnits"

"Arnaaavv!" khushi said as if she was about to burst out crying any moment holding the drenched papers in her hand. He just looked at her and she began sniffing. "We ruined it.. *sniff* Its Spoiled! What will we... *sniff* do now??"

"It's ok yaar! We'll do something.. and Hey! What about my hand?" he asked and she looked at him confused, her vision blur cause of the tears welled up there.

He resumed chuckling, "After all you fall on me without Warning.. lagta hai Doosra haath bhi fracture ho gaya"

Both of them laughed, Khushi sat there her face in her hands and her elbows on her either knees. And Arnav walked over and dropped himself beside her, his hand over her shoulders both mumbling, 'Ab Kya Karein?'
