Since the prior topic HOMEMADE FOOD keeps SEXY BEBO HEALTHY! didn't find any takers (😆), I am changing the topic a little bit and let's analyze a subject. The question I want to look into is BOLLYWOOD images. What can kill an image of a star if they don't project themselves in the right light for their fans? Could it be their personal life, a bad movie, ego, etc.?! What kills an IMAGE in Bollywood? Please share your thoughts. 😲😊

Snotty arrogant image! Dumb, submissive attitude seems to be appreciated more. When it comes to heroines, those who come off as independent, free spirited are labelled arrogant & are written off unless they come from a well connected family(Sonam anyone?)

In Bollywood, any news is good news .. it keeps people in limelight and they can do movies accordingly and once they retire, they are known for making their contribution to CINEMA
Image killing jaisa kuch hota nahin yahaan .. look at Salman, Sanjay -- even after all they did, it's not like that their image is killed (instead they've got fancy tags of being bad boys with the heart of gold 🤣)
Even after knowing all about Sunny Leone's past, she is getting all sort of roles and is appreciated for being pretty and bold ..
In BW, it is all about SUCCESS or FAILURE .. that is all that the actors' image is - successful/failed .. not actually the parameters that are used to make/break common man's image.

I think Bollywood is that kind of place, where everything is unpredictable, you can never be sure of what is going to work, and what is not.
There are no specific things that will work for an image or wont work. It all depends on that particular person and their image.
Now, for instance, you might say having a bad-attitude or making arrogant statements, may kill your image. But that's not really true, because we still have the likes of Kareena and Sonam who are still around.
Sometimes, standing up for yourself can kill your image...but sometimes make ur image stronger.. For example, when Preity stood up for herself several years ago against those terrorists, she received a medal for bravery. But when Vivek stood up for himself because of Salman threatening him, his career and image were both killed.
We also have extra-martial affairs and cheating. For some people it becomes their plus point ( Amitabh, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir) but for others...it ruins their career...ex: SRK's episode with Priyanka, his fan following took a strong hit after that affair.
We have criminals in Bollywood like Sanjay Dutt and for some people even Salman Khan. That didn't affect their star power. But then we have others who take a hard hit because of a crime like the Shiney Ahuja's rape case, completely destroyed his career. Today people feel "sorry" for Sanjay Dutt but then lash out at a...Sooraj Pancholi for the Jiah episode. So really, its a gray area.
One thing that I know WORKS for an image, is honesty. I think if you're honest people will like you, and your image doesn't get killed/ That's why Sunny Leone is accepted and respected, because she not trying to be something she is not. She's not lying about anything. I think people like that and identify with it. (not the po*n the honesty)
Basically, I think nothing in particular can kill an image, its all about that individual their experiences , reactions and the situations surrounding it. Its really hard to pin-point something in particular. I mean just look around, we have criminals that are huge stars, we have stars having extra martial affairs, drug problems, and various other issues /problems but the audience still accepts some of these people despite their huge issues behind them. So I Think to sum it up, What kills an image? the best answer is..."it depends"

Once a star gets a hit only multiple flops can kill a star. Nothing else really matters.
