I logged on to the forum and was shocked to see so many topics on the show being under scanner, show going off air and the sudden drop off trps. Maybe the show is or was indeed under scanner because we got some hints since the last week or so. I am no expert on these things and maybe I am missing out on a few aspects but there are a few things which I am finding rather confusing.
There is so much of debate regarding the trp itself, Sony has reportedly backed out from the trp system for a while because of inaccuracies, then should the sudden drop of trp (from 0.8 to 0.5) really matter?
All the dramas of Sony except BALH have below 1.0 trp. Only the non-fictions, reality, comedy shows have better trps. The soaps on Sony have much lower trps compared to the other three big channels and they take shows off air faster than any other channel (less than a year).
What does Sony actually aim for?
If all their shows have low trps, then why do they put shows under scanner and on what basis?
Do they want high trps? Do they want long running shows? Why are they so quick to put shows under scanner?
If they have backed out from the trp system for a while and if CC is under scanner, then what is it that worked against CC; the low trp (which all there shows have), public opinion or something else?
I thought about all these points for a while and couldn't find any answers myself. I would appreciate if someone can shed some light.
The trp have been pretty much consistent so far. After the replacement and the marriage, the show has been mostly getting good reviews lately so where is the problem? why should one weeks drop matter so much?
CC is just a four month old show. There were some setbacks initially. It had a weak start and had a bumpy ride for a while but the makers took our suggestions and feedbacks, the show steadily improved from the time of marriage and the last few episodes were very good.
When a show has inadequacies or setbacks, it takes a while for it to recover. CC is much better now than what it was initially I hope CC is given some more time because the story line has a lot of scope.
I don't expect CC to be a long running show but I do hope it has a decent run for Sanaya and leaves an impact on the audience. Optimystix is a reputed PH and they have produced many hit shows, so there are chances that CC can bounce back too.
I am glad that Sanaya has such a positive approach towards her work and instead of being worried about hits, flops and trps, she focuses on her work and enjoyment. I think we should do the same for a while instead of getting too worked up; we should keep writing positive reviews and suggestions. That might do the trick.
