Well, Surya, this is the former ruler who coveted Kamadhenu, then created an alternate galaxy for Trishanku, then had a baby w/ Maneka and both happily abandoned it, then put King Harishchandra thru some real crap due to the latter accidentally disturbing his dhyan, and so on. So it's in perfect character that he'd want Rama to kill a bird 😆
But like I said earlier, Rama, Lakshman & others were kshatriyas, and hunting was a legitimate act for them - whether for food or for sport. Like I said, I won't get into the argument on whether they were vegetarians or not, but kshatriyas and shudras were very much non-vegetarians. So what they're showing didn't make sense one way or another. At that time, deforestation was good, or else, you'd have had only animals ruling the roost, while humans starved. So forests had to be cleared. Just like Khandavprastha later was - and that was a yuga later. But yeah, Tardka the environmental wacko is too good! 🤣

I tend to agree w/ you - just wanted to avoid it since it's 'controversial'. That's the problem w/ trying to project today's mindset on ancient characters, where it just didn't apply. Heck, one can't even apply today's mindset on 20th century people 😆I actually don't like environmentalists. For a while, I lived in California, and we had mountain lions moving into populated areas and occasionally hunting down joggers. There was a proposition - a proposal usually voted on directly by the voters - to take that animal off the endangered species list. That proposition lost, and the mountain lions were safe 🤢So I'm perfectly fine w/ Rama killing Tardka the environmentalist. I hope Subahu, Khar, Dushan, Trisiras, Akampana, Sukh, Saran, Bhashmalochan, Makaraksh, Kumbhakarna, Meghnad and Ravan himself take up environmentalism, and Rama hunts them down. In fact, figuratively speaking, one of my favorite shots of Rama was him penetrating the 7 sal trees that Vali used to practice on, and getting back his arrow. Pretty symbolic of Rama the deforester 😆👏
