Deepika really has grown as an actress, but I feel that a lot of her success also hinges on her costars (Ranbir, Akshay) and some of the franchise movies that she's done (Race, Housefull).

While I do think that age matters, some of the leading ladies over the age of 30 have done a lot for the actresses recently, and I'd like to think actresses no longer have to be strictly confined to this. Strange PC and Vidya weren't mentioned at all in this piece

I am loving her movies but I wish she would play more roles like Veronica...something that's performance-oriented.

I don't think she's NO 1 yet...she hasn't proven that she can carry a movie by herself...creating a hype around a movie doesn't make an actor on the top and also all her movies this year were multistars...

Sonam may not be the No 1 actress but she took the risk and did "Raanjhanaa" without big stars and succeeded and ofcourse Dhanush is big in south but he was not famous in Bollywood...

For me it's Vidya who's the current top actress...collecting awards since 3 years now...
