See, he (My Derek š³ #sigh) doesn't know what a bhangra is, but LEARNED it (like actually learned even if it meant calling in someone for help...has the light bulb clicked yet?) š Tossed aside all those years of ballroom experience and learned it from scratch. Aside from that, he THOUGHT it to someone else.
What the hell man? Why aren't these choreographers bringing in real, unadulerated performances or bringing in reinforcements...like other pros who know the fundamentals of the dances they're assigned. Derek-Shawn don't know what bhangra is, but stayed true to the roots. Why can't the choreographers present a real dance in it's truest form? Tushar seems like the only one who's actually done that when he was piared with Ekta and they did the classical performances. Others, not so much--sometimes the kids, (but garba was a huge letdown). None of the contestants this year have done a dance to it's purest form, unless you count BW/item numbers...and let's be honest, those weren't really the highest marked dances and quite forgettable.
Judges need to go home and youtube/google/research dances before they come in and judge b/c at this point a lot of the neutral people/dance trained individuals here are doing a better job. Hell, even I can tell you if a dance "was beautiful", "badtameez", "purrr-FECT", or "this is IT!". š
