see the thing is.. if they do pure dance it would still be popular.. because to appeal to public you need eye pleasing things... an appealing dance.. the thing is.. judges are not competent , choreos are not competent.. most of them have learnt one or two dance forms and entirely depend on videso to come up with their choreography.. you can clearly see their knowledge of various art forms is limited...and you have participants who can't committ to the show..
HENCE, you as colors know that it is not a great package, but the trump card is that Indian population is not aware of the western dances... so if so called judges go ga ga... that would atleast make the ignorant ones think that this was a good performance.. and that's how it stands..
Lastly, i know a lot of people are DID fans.. but even DID is losing plot in terms of showing variety... there is so much to explore indian or other countries.. and its a shame that nothing is being explored..
china/ south east asia.. african tribes have other dance forms too.. foxtrot.. so many other european dances..
