Hey guys, my name is Zarna and I am fairly new to the Qubool Hai forum. Being an English minor, I couldn't help but dissect todays episode. The symbolism was too amazing to ignore. I have decided to share my views and want to see if other's agree with me. Please leave your comments!
The scene with Tanveer and Zoya. Okay this angered me a little bit. How dare Tanveer call Zoya a beggar? 😡 The last time I checked Tannu, you were the desperate one trying to steal a man who already belongs to another woman. Then I thought about it and it hit me. Since Imran has pretty much abandoned Tanveer, it seems right that she secure a means for herself through marriage to someone else. This way she not only secures a place for herself in society but a name under which the child will grow.
Where did this side of Taveer come from? I would say her childhood. Since she mentioned that her parents are no more, I have had a feeling she was affected early on and has learned to protect her self - using the wrong means to an end of course. But I think that when many people call her a completely black character, they are being a bit unfair. She has shades of grey. She is a woman in a precarious situation who is simply trying to protect her self. Is she going about it the right way? No. Should she be punished? Yes.
Moreover, I believe that Tannu's situation is sort of similar to Sareen's, as she was a woman who is pregnant out of wedlock. Back then Gaffur went on to secure Sareen's position with Rashid. Here Tanveer is on her own. Even though part of me can't help but sympathize for the woman a little bit, a HUGE part of me is counting down the minutes till she gets removed from the house. It is about time good trumped evil.
The scene at the mosque when Razia finds out that Tannu was telling Zoya about Gaffur and goes on to confront her. WOW. For one, the acting was superb by Alkaji. I mean the woman can surely act. Even more so, Tanveer ought to be taking notes on what a real vamp looks like. Take note Tannu, take note. After I got over rewinding the scene and watching it again and again, I couldn't help but connect with Razia. THE WOMAN HAD LOYALTY ISSUES. I swear, the epitome didn't just magically come to me.
But when I realized, it hit me so freaking hard. She hates when people betray her, prime examples being:
1) Her husband - who cheated on her and she took revenge by separating him from his daughter and killing his sautan
2) Tannu. Hence the pregnancy report revealed to Zoya.
She has a thing about being loyal to who you give your word to and that your word should stand for something. Of course she is not an all black character either. And even though many people will go back to hating her in a week, I have always admired the woman and will continue to admire her. I only began watching the show a few weeks ago but when I found out that Zoya is Razia's step daughter, I thought to my self wow, what an amazing parallel gul has created with Dilshad and Razia.
Yes, you read that right, Dilshad and Razia! Many people think that parallel lines must go the same way (travel in the same direction or be similar in personalities) but even though these two women are paralllel, the lines travel in opposite ways. One is good and one is bad. I think it's a beautiful statement on society and how people can be dealt the same cards but deal with them in a different manner.
Please don't misunderstand me. My comparison to Tanveer to Sareen and Razia to Dilshad doesn't mean I support the evils of the two women and condem the other two for being so weak. I think that it's just admirable how much depth these characters have and want to claim my appreciation for Gul's set up of anti-parallel characters in the show.
As far as Humeria goes. Her alterego is Zoya. The two sisters are originally so different from one another so an alterego has to be the reflection of the other. For one I am excited to see where Rajni/Humeria's track goes to see Nikhat get justice (this is just a hunch at this point.) Also, mark that Razia has never like Rajni. As in that can easily translate to meaning that because she sees a reflection of Zoya, this Rajni character gets under her skin. (maybe a stretch here)
For Asad and Ayan. Although the brothers claim to be sautan at times, both are cut from the same cloth. These two characters are set up in parallel. WHAT I AM OBSESSED WITH THEM IS both of them undermined their loves when they were with them. While Zoya was living with Asad and Humeria with Ayan, both the brothers were hell bent on ignoring their lady loves, insulting them, pushing them away. And when Zoya and Humeria both went missing (at the same time too - which is amazing symmetry at work exemplified by the scene of the brothers at the morgue) that the brothers truly started realizing their worth and how much the loved their respective soul mates.
This is one of the reasons I love QH. So much depth in the characters. So much dimension. Def not a 2 D show at all.
Please hit like and comment! Took a long time to type this up! 😳
