Ganga's selfishness

I feel that ganga should herself have exited the haveli and checked into a mahila ashram onto her own even before sumitra's insults started.
It is one thing to be a widow or an abandoned woman under the care of the singhs and the haveli... but to be a woman who has run away from home... and to have a murderous husband who has already had several run-ins with the singhs and almost fatally beat up jagya on the head ...
I feel it is not correct of ganga to insist staying at the haveli and continually put the singh family in danger.
In fact, the singhs could have provided her with guards etc. until she went to Bangalore for the nursing college.
In any case, ganga's problem was not a temporary one, ratan singh will be a permanent problem in her life... even if they are legally divorced, ratan singh is least bothered about law etc. He is an animal who would hound ganga and manu even after being divorced. In fact, he would also make a trip to the nursing college in Bangalore and harm ganga and manu too.
So why drag the singhs through all this hell even if bapusa and basant are willing to support?
Sometimes we also should have our own common sense.
It is one thing to live at the haveli as a guest when there is no problem like ratan singh.
It is quite another to live at the haveli when there are so many negative implications for the safety of the people who are giving you shelter.

Even though ur points are valid.. I do not think ganga is selfish. I think like any human being she wants to be safe. She finds that within the singh haveli. She tried to leave once but was stopped. Now, if she feels that she will be safe in someone's home.. then I do not think that will make her selfish. That will just make her like anyone else who wants safety for themselves and their child.

Seriously where else can Ganga go she's not guaranteed to be safe anywhere with ratan Singh on the loose, the police should never have let him go in the first place.

While I don't think Ganga is selfish, I do think that putting the Singh's in danger is also not right.

Agreed that she finds safety in this house, they are being very nice about keeping her till whenever, and they are providing her much needed shelter from being homeless with a son. But, it is also not a dharam-shala. It is someone's house and these people are in danger from her ex-husband who does not mince before causing harm. And she has seen this first hand when Jagya was attacked and she wept with regret about causing this.

So I do think, that Ganga, despite the love she has for him, and rather, because of it, should have gone to a Mahila Ashram, and taken security measure help from Singhs, where they could have provided guards/ police protection for her until Ratan Singh is caught. She should have thought of how dangerous Ratan Singh is and should have thought about possible attacks on Jagya again because of her, so she should have opted for an alternate home long back.

Sumitra, as much as I regret seeing her character act so distasteful with Ganga, I do understand her worry and her disdain for Ganga too. The woman in her mind, is just a charity case who has caused repeated problems for her son. I think somewhere she senses Ganga's feelings for Jagya too, and it unsettles her. It doesn't matter how nice Ganga is, any mother would be wary of a woman who poses threat to her child. Humanity often comes after a mother's first concern for own child. Some may call it selfish, but mothers are somehow just programmed that way. So I don't blame her completely, yet I feel she is being very crass, which is so unlike her.

Maybe Ganga is doing the same, where she is looking out for Manu's safety before the Singh's safety. But, yes, she is also not being selfish if thsi is the case.

well, selfishness is not the correct word. I dont know such excellent english to find the correct word.
But the point I am trying to convey is that our safety cannot be secured at the expense of harm to others.
You understand what I mean?

You wrote what I am thinking. I was of the view that Ganga is not safe in haveli because Rat knows where to find her. And by continuing her stay in haveli, she is putting haveli people also in danger. Sometimes, we have to think rationally and not take decision based only on emotions. In the face of threat/danger to life (and here there was clear indication after Jagya's assault), it is better to plan to avoid the threat rather than thinking that we will face it when it comes. Sumi may have sounded bad, but she gave the sane advice.

Anyway, this is serial, and we know, in the end all will be well, no harm will be done to Ganga/Mannu/haveli people.

I absolutely agree too. Ratan knows where she is, so it should be more unsettling for her to remain in the haveli.

More so, even though they will all come out safe, how will Sumitra EVER pardon Ganga after such a direct and vicious attack by Ratan Singh? Bahu toh door ki baat hai, but even being a house-help will not work for Sumi now.

All i can think in this episode is gehna. I just wish her to be fine. But the brutal way sumi and gehna is shocked and screamed , I was in tears. They tied up a fully pregnant woman😭😕

How mean can one get? and putting a sword on a kid😲.

Now Ganga is hiding. what about singhs ???What if ratan kills anyone? If he is inhuman enough to treat a pregnant lady brutally then i see no wonder why he wont kill them. I dont like it at all.

Ratan Singh has always had his men do all the dirty work whether it was to beat Ganga up in the field, poison her in hospital, or beat jagya up. I doubt he himself will kill anyone but might order others too. I just don't get why these guys support ratan Singh and do his disgusting work, does he have some sort of hold over them that they stoop to doing such deeds.

@angelic --
the reasons the goons work for him is money.
Rural areas have a high unemployment rate and consequently a lot of frustrated and desperate men who need any means possible to provide for their families. So they happily do this for ratan singh because it pays their bills. They dont have any other skills. It comes out desperation, not the love of beating up people...nor for the love of ratan singh. they are just goons paid for hire.
Ratan singh has a rich mommy 😆 with several fields and a lot of property. She has a lot of money and she passes it on to her son.
