Start and end of series season

Am fairly new to tv series
Please inform start end months of tv series is it same for all channels or does colours have it own schedule?

TV shows in India mostly don't have fixed ending. If it does good TRP rating wise, it may go on for years without break.

Currently they are trying Season format. But even there they are not specifying the end earlier.
