Ratan is extremely angry when she finds out that Nihal bought a potter's kit for Ranvijay. She confronts Nihal for taking such a step without informing her.

You're so right. Poor Ratan, why is balwant silly sometimes? I hope Ratan is saved from Kartar, he is a bad guy and Nihal only should end up with Ratan.

I think Chaiji will never allow Kartar-Ratan to happen. She will probably realise that Nihal is best for Ratan.

Chaiji was trying to speak with gurpreeth. My guess is that chaiji will speak with gurpreeth without realising the proposal from balwanth, so she will arrive at the right time and show the real intention of kartar to everyone. when the idea is mooted by Balwanth himself agreed by every one in the pind, I think she will realise that nothing is wrong if she comes closer to Nihal.
