This is not true. A Muslim girl can visit a graveyard if she keeps her emotions intact. Although certain CULTURES discourage women from visiting a graveyard, in Islam they can if they are covered and act appropriately.

This is heresay. Muslim girls can visit the graveyard if they do not weep and wail loudly. The prophet (SAW) did not like it when the women, at the time, would follow the funeral procession crying loudly and beating their chests. For this reason women were discouraged but if a woman can be dignified in grief there is nothing to stop her from visiting the grave.

" Had it been forbidden for women to visit graves, Allah's Messenger (s.a.w) would have told her that, as it is not from the character of the Prophet (s.a.w) to keep silent about prohibited actions. Although it is allowed for women to visit graves, it is not recommended that they visit frequently. "

the women can visit but not regularly!!!

When my mother passed away we asked the same question and were told the same. However, as long as we did not cry loudly or lose ourselves we were permitted and have visited her grave many time since. We just did what was right and the examples you have given say that it is discouraged but not forbidden.

No worries. I suppose at the end of the day we do what we feel is right. 😊
