Prabhu Deva has had a tremendous directorial run so far in Bollywood. His first film, WANTED starring Salman Khan, was a hugely popular success that brought Salman Khan back into the game and set him up for his No.1 position that he currently enjoys in Bollywood. Then, in 2012, Prabhu delivered the Blockbuster Rowdy Rathore, which had the best universal word of mouth out of all the films released in 2012!
The expectations are obviously there for him to deliver again in his next film, which is RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA releasing this Friday. The film stars Girish Kumar and Shruti Hassan.
The music of the film has worked, especially the Jeene Laga Hoon song which became a rage as soon as it was showed in one of the first promos.
Opening of the film will be decent for a film starring newcomers, partly due to the success Prabhu Deva enjoys as a director (more so amongst the masses) and due to the songs (particularily Jeene Laga Hoon) doing well.
Prabhu Deva understands his craft as a director, which is why I feel that the film will sustain after the opening. Chances are there for universal appreciation for this film, as it could work with both masses and classes. The romance genre is the "in" thing right now, which will further help the film.

Opening Day: 5 crores net
Opening Weekend:20 crores net
Lifetime Collections: 60+ crores net
Overall Box Office Verdict: Hit
